For the last 3 weeks or so, I have been sulking, politically, and busy, professionally, thus preventing more of my words of mediocrity from appearing on this blog site. I apologize to my hundreds of readers for my delays in getting back to you, both on here, and through the many emails you have sent.
So, let me recap what has gone on since I last posted.
We are gearing up for a new Clinton administration, a third term for Bill and Hillary's people. Barack even admitted that he was intentionally hiring former Clinton people because he wanted experienced people on his staff. However, with Hillary the most likely Secretary of State, and Bill publicly stating interest in a job in the president-elect's cabinet, America is entering into the 1990's all over again. Higher taxes are on the way! Oh, and in bad news for the economy, this Clinton regime will not have the internet boom fall into its collective lap this time around.
Congress, with their 59 Democrats in the Senate, is spending like there is no tomorrow. Since some of our Republican friends thought that acting like a Democrat and spending more than we have was how to get re-elected, we have no one left to fight for spending control. Except when it comes to the military. They are all for gutting the military...similar to what happened 10 minutes after Bill took office in 1993. Then, for 8 years, our weakened military was unable to fight off terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, two US Embassies in Africa, and the USS Cole. (The same military and defense cuts led to our vulnerability to the 9-11 attacks.)
Everyone from the city of Chicago (fully under the impression of the buddy-boy network now that their puppet is the president-elect), to the state of Cahl-EEE-foh-nee-yah; from the mom and pop candy store to the biggest automakers in the United States; are all asking...or, begging...for a big slice of the open flood of money from Washington. It is downright sad. There is such a panic over the economy, 99% of which is exacerbated by the 24-hour, repetitive news cycle, that everyone is making a run on any money they can get their paws on, no one taking a moment to really think of where this money is coming from, or what the price is going to be in the long run.
The one bright spot of the 2008 elections, well, the one successful bright spot, if you will, was Saxby Chambliss fending off the millions of Obama-aid send to Georgia to reclaim his seat in the Senate, thus preventing the filibuster-prof majority for the Democrats. Saxby will be looked to for leadership and strength, as he is one of the few Republicans to be able to return to Washington in January. Saxby won by double-digit margins, thus preventing a drawn-out, lawsuit-filled holiday season, as there would assuredly be suit after suit after suit should the polls have been withing 5 points. So, Saxby Chambliss is the one hero that Republicans can look to for the next couple of years. He fought the "Obama-mania media" and the Liberals from NYC to LA to win back his seat.
Next, I want to address the pseudo-controversy surrounding Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. His comments about Janet Napolitano, Obama's pick to head Homeland Security. The same media who criticized Sarah Palin for having 5 kids is now attacking Rendell for his comments. He made a comment, that was unknowingly picked up by a nearby live mic, that said that since Napolitano does not have a family, she is a great pick for the job, because she can devote 19-20 hours a day to the job. To me, Rendell was only repeating the logic that many used to attack Sarah Palin. Now they are upset at this logic? In addition, this comment was not sexist, as many are purporting to be. The quote was, "Janet's perfect for that job. Because for that job, you have to have no life. Janet has no family. Perfect. She can devote, literally, 19-20 hours a day to it." The only reference to her gender came in the form of pronouns used instead of her name. There was no reference to her gender other than that. It just goes to show how sensitive and ready to pounce people are today. Everyone is looking for a reason to get mad at someone.
Previously in this piece, I referred to Chambliss as the 'one successful brightspot' in this year's campaign cycle. There can be arguments as to how successful she was, but the fact is she did not get elected. And I do blame her running mate as much as I do the left-wing media that actively campaigned for her opponents. I am talking, of course, about the "breath of fresh air," Governor Sarah Palin. She was the bright spot to outshine all bright spots. She, and she alone, carried John McCain to a lead in September. Then the financial crisis hit, and then the media put the blame solely on the Bush Administration, and that proved to be too much for even the bright-eyed, intelligent, strong Conservative leader Palin.
However, I do believe that Sarah Palin may well repeat her own Modus Operondai come 2012. If you know much about her, you know that before winning the Governorship, Palin did lose a bid to become Lieutenant Governor her first time around. So, perhaps, in 2012, it is time for her to take a step up, much as she did in Alaska. A Palin-Romney ticket sounds great to me. Or, perhaps, Sarah Palin-General David Petraeus ticket? Okay, I am stretching it there, but Petraeus has climbed about as high as anyone can in the military. In four years, he may want to climb to a higher office.
It has been a hard month to swallow. It sickens me how much of a rock star our president-elect is. He is not a leader. He was not elected to be a leader. He is simply installing Clinton Administration 2.0, then going around talking good. However, Saxby Chambliss helped America avoid sheer disaster, and may just be enough for us to limp to the 2010 mid-terms, where I hope people like Sarah Palin are the face of the party, and not these middle of the road phonies who think Republicans need to lean left, instead of the Democrats leaning from the FAR FAR FAR left toward the center.
I am hopeful.
I do want to add that I had a lot of ground to cover in this piece, and I did not want to include the Black Friday tragedies and the India Terrorist Attacks in with this litany of commentary. I will discuss those events in coming blogs. Thank you for your time!

If I Were Running for President, Part 1 of 5
If I were 36 years of age, or older, and able to run in the 2008 Presidential Election, the following paragraphs would be my platform. I believe in America and believe our best days are ahead of us...depending on the outcome of the next Presidential Election and then Mid-Term Elections, our worst days could also be ahead of us.
There are many issues facing this nation today. The first and foremost for every American today would have to be the price of gas. A close second, of course, is the two-pronged war on terror. Then, the major issues behind those would be the economy (which is directly related to gas prices), immigration, education, and jobs, also related to gas prices and the economy.
Over the next few blogs, I am going to explore and explain what would be my platform for running for President. While most of this may not be new to those that frequent my blogs, I do hope to convince a few voters to see the light and cast the correct votes this November, as well as in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, and so on and so forth.
Today, let's talk about gas prices. No, gas is not approaching $4 per gallon because Bush is in the back pocket of the oil companies. The oil companies could possibly do more to lower the cost of gas, but we can't expect Exxon and Cheveron to voluntarily give up their profits when we don't expect Snickers to voluntarily drop the price of candy bars. What we need to look for is answers as to what is really driving costs up.
The cost of oil is going up for the simple fact that there are billions more people using it today than they were 25 years ago. The shift from the stone age to the modern age over the last 20 years in China has drastically increased the need and demand for oil and gasoline. More demand, more cost. Simple economic fundamentals. If no one wants what you are selling, you can't give it away. But if your product is demanded and essential to survival of billions of people, prices skyrocket.
Countries like our good friend Saudi Arabia and Iran and Venezuela are holding the world economy hostage through OPEC, who controls most of the world's oil. They refuse to up oil production and sit back and watch the money roll in to their already overflowing pockets.
Our problem in America is our dependence on foreign oil. Our problem is that we have our own oil but refuse to use it. The United States is one of thousands of hands out in the oil market, like the masses crowding at the door of a soup kitchen during the Great Depression. We are like a farmer who won't sow his own oats and wheat, instead waiting in line for a crust from someone else, and paying steeply for it.
We have enough oil in Alaska to last a minimum...A MINIMUM!...of 30 years. Alaska can fuel our country's entire need for fossil fuel for over a generation! Yet, the environmental wack-os freak out and buy the best liberals available everytime we talk about drilling. ANWR (pronounced in the news an-whar), the Alaskan National Wildlife Reserve, is a place of pristine beauty where rare and endangered wild life roam freely. ANWR is roughly the size of the state of South Carolina. The area that would need to be impacted would be roughly equivalent to the size of a large international airport. A large area, but hardly enough to show up on an atlas.
Plus, in the 30 years since drilling in ANWR was first killed by liberals, drilling and conservation technologies have progressed by lightyears. We have the technology to drill with minimal impact on the environment. Today's technology would provide more efficient and successful oil extraction while the spotted butt caribou can live on without a care in the world.
We need to drill our own oil in Alaska and other places. We have territory off of our Pacific and Atlantic coasts that would also provide oil for our country. Yet again, we are being held up by liberals who fight for environmentalist wackos and their slanted agendas.
Our nation has not built one new oil refinery in over 30 years. Why? You guessed it...liberals.
We have new, improved, environmentally safe technology to drill oil with virtually no impact on the areas inwhich we would drill. We have abundant oil to get us through an entire generation.
The second we pass legislation to start to drill and produce our own oil, I guarentee you that we will see OPEC change their tune and start lowering oil prices. They need the US as a customer too much to force us to pull out of OPEC completely once our own oil is on line.
Next, we need to invest in more nuclear power plants. We have the technology to make it the safest, most abundant and renewable source of energy. It would replace coal and oil power, thus alleviating the demand for those fossil fuels. Nuclear power would also help fuel cars that run on electricity, thus eliminating even more Carbon waste.
We have our own power sources...just need to get the people in power to allow us to tap into those resources. Once we lower our energy costs, inflation and the cost of every other product we use and need will likewise go down.
In my next blog, we will further explore what is slowing down our economy, both including skyrocketing fuel costs and other factors.

It's time for CHANGE!

There, my friends, is the entire campaign of any of the three leading Democrats for the Presidency. Oh, that, and "Bush sucks."
It's pretty sad that for three straight elections, the Democrats are tryingt o campaign against George W. Bush. The sad part is the realization that Bush cannot and is not running this go around. Yet, that's all you hear...other than the promise of change.
What change do they mean? Let us explore.
CHANGE= Higher taxes for everybody. The top 5% income earners pay over 60% of the tax revenue...which is a higher percentage than at any time during any Democratic, high-tax era. You hear the Dems crying that the rich pay too little in taxes...yet they are paying more than 60% of the revenue...How much to the rich need to pay? Do the rich need to pay until they become non-rich? Hmmm...sounds like Socialism/Communism to me...
CHANGE= Stifling a growing economy. How often do you hear good news about the economy? NEVER. However, the fact of the matter, with the exception of gas prices, everything in our economy is doing solidly well. Unemployment has been at near-record lows most of the last 6 years. The stock market is still on the rise...there are modest corrections every so often, but the market is doing well.
CHANGE= Terrorist attacks on American people and property. 1993-2000 we saw attacks on the World Trade Center, American Embassies in Africa, and the attack on the USS Cole...during this administration, we have had one while the terrorists have attacked more liberally-run nations and not made a successful attempt on our interests...
CHANGE= Amnesty for illegal aliens. A Democrat President will open the borders and forgive the millions of law-breakers who reside in our country ILLEGALLY.
CHANGE= More government involvement in your daily lives. All you hear is how the government will provide this and do that under the Democrats...they are going to pay for it all by taxing the rich into oblivion...and the non-rich will eventually live under Big Brother and have to seek government permission on when to pee and what to wear to work.
Wow. I hope everyone goes out and votes for a Democrat government. George Orwell's 1984 was only off by maybe 25 years....

HEALTH CARE FOR EVERYONE!
It works SO well in Canada and Europe....let's bring it here.
What is it?
Tax-funded health care for EVERYONE!!!
For the 47 million uninsured (20 million of which are the illegal criminals who broke the law to cross our borders into our country), Hillary wants to start America's path to Socialism with healthcare for everyone.
Health Coverage for EVERYONE!!!
Sounds great in a 5 second sound bite on the news and reads great in a blurb in the paper...but how can this happen?
Well, the government has plenty of money, and can get even more from the rich. Let's tax the rich into oblivion and redistribute the wealth. High taxes and the passing on of hard-earned dollars is just the thing to encourage job growth, higher wages, and entrepreneurship in our country.
I can see it now. Even more people fighting to climb the ladder of success so they can give 50-60-70% of their earnings to the less fortunate. And since they are in such a giving mood, with all the taxes going to Washington, DC, they will continue the trend of spending and hire more people for higher wages. They're rich. They can afford it.
Actually, the health care system, as it exists in this country today, is the best in the world. We do not need some do-nothing senator from a do-nothing Democratic congress (WAIT!!! They did rename some post offices, so I guess they did do something with their major win in 2006.) mucking up this system with government funding, government regulation, and government involvement on the day-to-day operations of health care.
The price tag for her plan, as she states, is $110 billion. Why, that's not bad...until the people who are working overtime to pay for their own insurance plans drops their plans in favor of the free stuff.
Then, of course, when the time comes that a life saving operation is needed, we won't have time or the intestinal fortitude to ask for citizenship documents. So, anyone from anywhere with a boo boo or a sickness can come on our dime...well, its not our dime, it's the rich people's dime, right?
Then, suddenly, the system won't work so good. SuperHillary will swoop in with government programs and regulations to help fix the problem (but no one other than Fox News will have the spine to call out the fact that it was a problem created by Hillary.) Now, all the sick and dying will look to the Big-Brother Clinton regime to take care of everything. People will be so sick and so desperate for care, they won't care that their choice is being taken away. They will only get to see certain doctors on certain days. People with colds and flues will stand in line like Russians in a bread line.
If you want to see government health care in action, look at the VA Medical Centers and Walter Reed Hospital. While there are some fine, talented, caring people that work in these places, they are few and far between. In general, it is not the cream of the crop that work there. In addition, the level of care is based on the bottom line and not on the needs of the patient. My dad is a Vietnam Vet who can only afford the VA Medical Center, and I have seen first hand how the level of care and treatment and improvement of the quality of life is sorely lacking. Like I said, they do some good things. However, like the men peeled from their beds with bed sores and gangrene at Walter Reed, there will be a low level of care as compared to the pseudo-free-market system we have now.
Like with the school systems across America, consolidation will be the key to fiscal responsibility. Instead of living 5 miles from a hospital, people will have to be bussed 2-3 hours sometimes to find a place of wellness.
The inner cities will be left behind. The minority population throughout the country will see a drastic decline in the decades following the installation of the Hillary Health Care plan.
Think I am being racist? Ask yourself this...courtesy of Democrat-developed bills and spending cuts, the government has already screwed up the Education system. Carry that further...do the schools and regions with high black or Hispanic populations get the best teachers and equipment? No. You think when the government takes over health care, the blacks and Hispanics will have the best doctors and life-saving equipment?
So, ok, let's stop Hillary. But Barack HUSSEIN Obama and "Breck Girl" Edwards claim to have had similar plans and accuse Hillary of stealing their health care proposals.
So, basically, if the blue states win, we will all lose.

Four Decades of Military Service....Still no Respect from the Democrats???
GENERAL DAVID PETRAEUS
General David Petraeus has spent the better part of the last four decades serving our nation. He has drastically impacted the military and the way our wars are fought.
General Petraeus wrote the book, literally, on counter-insurgency in Iraq. He has been in charge of training the Iraqi security forces. He has been in Iraq for nearly 4 years out of the last five.
He nearly died from a bullet to the chest while wearing the US uniform. He is the son of a man who served in the military. He graduated the US Military Academy. He has a Ph.D. from Princeton University. His credentials are impeccable and impressive.
Yet, to believe this man's report and testimony to Congress, we have to "suspend disbelief." Presidential hopeful and leading Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, as well as most of her party, feel that his report on the progress in Iraq and the surge was inacurate and a White House-influenced political piece of propaganda.
Look at the Democrats' biggest financial backer, MoveOn.Org. They have publicly said they have bought and paid for the Democratic party. They get an uneal discount on a full page ad, which ran the day of General Petraeus' testimony to Congress (thus being printed before the General had given a word of testimony to anyone.) They accused the General of betraying our country by giving his report. His honesty, integrity, and 4 decades of service to our country was smeared by a group of anti-American kooks...kooks who control the thoughts, words, and deeds of all the democratic presidential candidates (Don't believe me??? Name one of the front-runners that has spoken out against the slanderous insult of an ad...just one.)
It is a disgrace and a joke that Petraeus was smeared the way he was by MoveOn.org, made worse by the fact that the New York Times, a paper of record in our country, gave them a discounted rate to smear the General. The worst part is, there are 4 people one the Democratic side who have a legit chance to become Commander in Cheif of the military, and the General's next boss, and they all refuse to decry the ad. They refuse to say that it was uncalled for and wrong. They even try to agree with the ad without using the exact same verbage. Hillary says that to accept what General Petraeus testified to, we have to "suspend our disbelief." Meaning, we have to ignore the fact he is lying to accept it. And she wants to lead our military?
I just believe a man who wears four stars and has served as long as he has deserves a little more respect. I guess this shows their true colors...all this time they tried to say "We're against the war but we support the troops." Well, when a bona fide American hero and true leader gives them bad news for their political ambitions, they appearantly are willing to make exceptions to their support of the troops.
