Let's Fix our Country...
I know how to fix the country. All of these ideas will help to fix economy, solve the debt, end the deficit, and put America back on track to prosperity.
1) Legalize marijuana in all American territories. Regulate it. Then tax the heck out of it. I propose a 90% federal sales tax and a 6% state sales tax on marijuana.
2) Ban all lobbyists. They use money to puppeteer elected officials, causing the average American's voice to be drowned out.
3) Make all unions non-profit organizations who are banned from using member money for the purposes of lobbying or to support any candidate, committee, or PAC.
4) Make it a federal crime, retroactively, for an elected official to use insider knowledge for profit. (i.e. using knowledge of an upcoming bill to inspire certain stock purchases or sales, using government programs that make once worthless land into rich property [See Harry Reid's portfolio...]).
5) Term limits for all elected officials. The founding fathers never intended for public service to be a lifetime career.
6) Only those elected officials who reach their term limit are eligible for pensions and benefits after their final terms. IMMEDIATELY stop paying full salary pensions PLUS full benefits to former Congressmen, Senators, and others who were voted out. (This would include Jimmy Carter's incredible pension as well as George Bush's (41). )
7) Stop ALL ethanol subsidies. This limits the amount of corn available for food, both for human and livestock consumption. When you limit supply, demand requires prices to rise. Food prices rise as a direct result of ethanol subsidies.
8) Stop with the "blend" requirements for fuel. There is ZERO conclusive proof that these "blends" do anything other than drive up the cost of fuel. Go with one blend. Lower the cost of fuel.
9) Reopen and reissue the expired leases in the Gulf of Mexico. THEN, open off-shore drilling on the continental shelf. BP disaster? Ok, let me ask you this. Is a leak easier to control at 100' depth in the ocean...or 5,280' depth?
10) Approve the already cleared, researched, and properly prepared-for 'Keystone Pipeline' project. On July 6, 2008, President Bush announced that he was opening the coasts of Virginia and California to further exploration. Seemingly within minutes, gas plummeted. (Gas was back down to $1.84 +/- when Bush left office...). The sheer announcement of exploration panicked OPEC. The election of kowtowing Obama relinquished that fear.
11) Apply the Texas legislative schedule to the federal government. Texas' legislature meets something like once every other year. If the feds met once a year, and were required to work in their home districts the rest of the time, they would be far less likely to pass stupid laws and would be more motivated to get things done...especially since they would be in their home districts, hearing far more from constituents than from lobbyists.
12) Close the borders. Make the discovery of illegal immigrants employed by your company devastating to your bottom line. Make the attraction to break our laws to come here less attractive.
13) Once the borders are closed, modify and pass the Dream Act. (Read on, conservative...I have not sold out. But, I am a realist. ) In the new Dream Act, there is a sunset date on registration for the program. Here are the details of the program:
-Within 6 months of passage, all illegal immigrants must register with the program.
-One able-bodied member of each immediate family must register for, and complete, either 5 years of Military Service; a Masters Education Degree in a Math, Science, or Arts program with a commitment to work in low-income schools for 5 more years; earn a degree in the field of healthcare and commit to 5 years in high-need areas.
-All adult members of the immediate family must complete 1,000, hours of community service within 2 years of registry (any real community service such as mentoring, reading to children, assisting elderly, etc.)
-All members of the immediate family must learn English.
-All members of the immediate family must take an oath of loyalty to the United States of America.
If you do not register within 6 months of the passage of the program, you are ineligible. Any illegal not registered under the Dream Act within that 6 month period will be deported. If you don't have a deadline, the flow of illegals to take advantage would be overwhelming. Close borders first! THEN, require those here the option of serving this country to stay on permanent VISAs (not citizenship), or they can leave voluntarily.
14) If Congress fails to perform its duties in any calendar year (i.e. not passing a budget, creating a deficit, etc.), all members will be fined 50% of that year's salary, and will work, without pay, until such duties are completed.
15) If the President signs into law a bill that puts the nation in long-term debt, he/she will forfeit one year's salary up until he/she signs a bill that covers that debt. This would include the pension due the President after his/her term.
16) All Higher Court decisions must refer only to US law and the US Constitution. Referring or using the laws or dictates of foreign nations is not to be done and is grounds for impeachment as a Judge or Justice.
These 16 steps would be painful, but mostly to the moochers who live off the taxpayer and dictate to us how to live.

2011 Wrap up, 2012 Preview...
It’s been a long time since I’ve actually put out a complete blog. I have spent a lot of time resorting to Tweets and Facebook updates. However, as we wrap up 2011, I want to discuss the coming election year and the importance of conservatives uniting and standing on principles.
In 2011, the GOP establishment continued to miss the point of the 2010 elections and what the Tea Party and conservative mandate meant. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell have both been incredible let-downs in leadership. I have felt betrayed and disappointed in the Republican Party in 2011. If we want a chance at real change in 2012, some attitudes will need to change, some spines will need to stiffen, and some leaders will need to stand up.
The debt ceiling debacle was a colossal failure. There is no way the government collapses if the ceiling is hit. Perhaps some services will need to be temporarily closed, but there is a monthly income of approximately $392 BILLION. The President of the United States and the US Treasury Department have sole discretion over how monies are spent should there be an uncovered portion of the budget and Congress has not given authorization for additional borrowing. Therefore, boys and girls, had the GOP stood strong and fought to the bitter end for real spending cuts, not gotten it, and the debt ceiling had been reached, Obama and his Treasury guru Timothy Geithner would have to decide how to spend the $392 BILLION. So, if they opted not to send Social Security checks or checks to the military, it would have been Obama’s responsibility and choice to do that. Yet, instead of getting that message, you know, the TRUTH out, the GOP buckled. For some reason, Boehner and the GOP establishment just don’t get it. They still think giving in to the left will somehow garner favor and fairness from the mainstream media and Obama himself. Not going to happen.
The GOP is still dying for a leader who will step up and lead and not buckle to pressure. The stakes are too high now for us to continue to be weak in the knees. ObamaCare will, in fact, destroy what’s left of our healthcare system. Health Care needs REAL reform, and not a bunch of bureaucracy that will put government between people who need care and the doctors they want to see. ObamaCare is making it harder for insurance companies to be viable. It is designed to force insurance companies out of business, thus forcing a need for a “public” system. Which is just an awesome idea. Look how well the government can deliver mail on time, or how profitable Amtrak has become, or how well the VA system meets the health needs of all veterans. The government cannot get FEMA trailers into New Orleans for weeks after a hurricane they knew about 6 days ahead of time. Yet we want them to take over health care and life and death decisions? Really?
Health Care needs reform. Lawyers have too much power and influence the cost of health care more than anything else. Yet, because most of the Democratic Party is run by lawyers, no one dared address lawsuit abuse in the health care bill. The GOP needs to fight and make the repeal of this travesty the number one priority on January 20, 2013. Second priority is the repeal of Dodd-Frank. Third priority is to open the way for the pipeline from Canada to the gulf. Getting those three priorities accomplished would do wonders for the economy. Here’s how…
Repealing ObamaCare will release billions of dollars in bureaucracy off the backs of businesses, big and small. Even if the company tries to save some money by dropping coverage and paying the fine, they would still be paying people to deal with the red tape and bureaucracy to pay those fines. Now, without that burden, they could afford to recruit and retain the best people for their company. With the best people performing and content with their jobs, their productivity improves, the company improves, and more jobs can be created. Not to mention the thousands of people who work for insurance companies whose jobs would really be saved (as opposed to the fictitious saved or created jobs we keep hearing about.).
Dodd-Frank is terrible law. It makes banking, seeking loans, and anything financial excruciatingly painful, especially if you are a small business. Dodd-Frank is killing jobs on a daily basis. Banks are laying people off in 2011 to get ready for policies within Dodd-Frank that take effect over the next two years. Dodd-Frank is bad law, not to mention it’s complete lack of reform to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac (of course having nothing to do with those two failed institutions undying and exorbitant financial backing of Democrat candidates, particularly Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and Barack Obama). The repeal of Dodd-Frank will alleviate the immense pressure being brought to bear on the business community. If it’s easier to operate, it’s easier to produce, it’s easier to create profit, and then it’s easier to grow and hire.
President Obama is holding 20,000, jobs hostage until after the 2012 elections. The Keystone pipeline, by itself, would create a buzz in the American economy. This pipeline would run from Canada to Texas. It would create a minimum of 20,000 jobs. It would lead to a lessening of America’s dependence on Middle Eastern oil. American construction technology would make it one of the safest pipelines in the world. We have a so many pipelines in the harsh conditions of Alaska. Does anyone know the last time one of them burst? Wouldn’t building in the mid-west be far less risky? Yet, despite already recorded and reported environmental studies giving the pipeline the O.K., Obama is giving in to environmentalist wackos and holding these jobs and economic buzz hostage for political reasons.
So, when a Republican is sworn in on January 20, 2013, authorizing the pipeline would open the proverbial floodgates to some economic improvement in the nation. On Monday, July 28, 2008, George W. Bush announced the lifting of the executive moratorium on the harvesting of oil shale in the western US. That day…THAT DAY…gas prices dropped. Gas prices dropped all the way through the election. Gas was $1.85 when Obama was sworn in on January 20, 2009. $1.85. Just think how fast prices would drop again with the announcement that we’re going to give ourselves access to more Canadian oil that’s cheaper.
Think…how much better would your holidays have been if you were paying under $2/gallon at the pump?
As I look at the field of GOP Candidates, I am slightly disappointed. Instead of running against Obama, they have taken to tearing each other down. I have not chosen a candidate out of the remaining field. My pick was Herman Cain. However, the hatred of a black conservative was too much for him to put his family through. And that is a shame. Lies and baseless accusations can prevent a black conservative from running for office. Had Cain been a liberal, the women making the accusations would have been vilified as racists and had their worst, darkest secrets exposed on the mainstream media.
However, out of the field remaining, I wish Rick Santorum would gain more traction. Romney and Gingrich leave me slightly uneasy. Their records suggest they are prone to some of the problems I have with Boehner and McConnell in the Congress. They seem vulnerable to giving in and getting weak-kneed when pressured by the media and liberals in Washington. Michelle Bachmann is great in the House, but she does not have the strength or delivery in presentation to defeat Obama. Ron Paul is a crazy, hapless hack. When he is lucid, he makes some sense on domestic economic issues. Foreign policy, however, is his weakness and, if elected to the White House, would spark the third world war, while we sit at home and wait for the evil of the world to come calling. As for Huntsman, his daughters are very pretty, but that’s the only thing he’s brought worthwhile to the campaign. That being said, I do not want this guy anywhere near the GOP Convention next fall. He is NOT conservative. He is barely Republican.
So, of the field, my endorsement at this time goes to Santorum. He is the real conservative leader in the pack, no matter how much Charles Krauthammer or the other pundits in conservative media want to bury him and pretend he’s not a candidate. However, because, for whatever reason, he is not getting the traction he needs, I think thanks in no small part to Fox News burying everyone BUT Romney and Gingrich, I will probably go with writing in Gingrich on my Virginia ballot.
Nonetheless, whoever gets the GOP nomination will need to step up and lead. He or she will need to absorb the slings and arrows from the left. He or she will have to stick to their principles. If they stand up, run against Obama and his failed policies, hammer home the idea that Obama had all three branches of government under his control until January 2011, when the GOP took the House (thus getting through everything he really wanted to), and showing how America is worse off than it was in 2008, we can win a Republican Supermajority and get rid of ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, and clear the way for the Keystone pipeline. Those three agenda items would set the foundation for a revived economy…if only the GOP has the intestinal fortitude to do it.

NEW American Pie- Obama and Democrat Party Tribute
A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that freedom used to make me smile.
And I knew here I had my chance
That I could work to make my life enhance.
And, maybe, I'd pursue "happy" for a while.
But health care bill made me shiver
With all the lies they'd deliver.
Bad news from Ms. Pelosi;
Can't Ameri-ca see?
I can't believe the tactics tried
Smoke and mirrors nearly my brain fried,
But they angered us deep inside
The day that freedom died.
So my, my, this here Obama guy
Wanted this bill crammed through the hill,
Despite the massive outcry.
And the Tea Party boys were protestin' in vain outside
Chantin', "this'll be the day the bill dies!
"We're tired of your political lies!"
Did you pass this bill of fibs
And do you have faith in Robert Gibbs,
If Obama says you must?
Do you ignore all the polls,
Can government save our mortal souls,
And tell me in Progressives we should trust?
Well, I know Pelosi wants it passed
despite her numbers fallin' really fast.
Her and Reid stopped debate.
Man, November'll be too late!
We felt ignored, they passed the buck
Had hope for Scott Brown's pickup truck,
But I knew we were out of luck
The day that freedom died.
I started shoutin',
My, my, this here Obama guy
Wanted this bill crammed through the hill,
Despite the massive outcry.
And the Tea Party boys were protestin' in vain outside
Chantin', "this'll be the day the bill dies!
"We're tired of your political lies!"
Now for ten years it's 'posed to cost less
But to me it seems like a big mess,
But that's not how it used to be.
When the elected answered to you and me,
In a country of the brave and free
And a nation united sea to sea!
Oh, and while Obama was talking down,
Awaiting his expected crown.
The Congress was coerced;
Power 'n greed won first.
And while bribes and deals were done,
On our dollars they had some fun,
And we protested in the sun
The day that freedom died.
We were mourning,
"My, my, this here Obama guy
Wanted this bill crammed through the hill,
Despite the massive outcry.

Race in the Election
In my previous blog, I discussed the idea that Barack Obama was elected simply by the ideals of Affirmative Action.
Race was never an issue in the Democratic Primaries, nor in the National Race, until Obama, himself, or mouthpieces in the Democratic party, played the race card.
It truly saddens me that the first black president was elected in that manner. I hate that he was elected simply based on the color of his skin. Not one Obama voter truly took into consideration the content of Obama's character, for if they had, they might not have voted for him.
We do not know who Obama really is. He talked a great game for 2 years, but he will not be able to back it up. Not in the least.
Barack Obama will be a colossal failure as President of the United States of America.
That saddens me.
I love all people. I love blacks, whites, Asians, Hispanics...all people. I want to support my black friends in their celebration of a Black President. I do.
However, I am sad for them. Barack Obama will be a failure. All of the celebration will be for naught when we enter another Great Depression, courtesy of Obama's tax hikes, and the expiration of the Bush Tax Cuts. Spending will go through the roof, even higher than it is currently. Jobs will be lost in record numbers. Our very civilization could start flirting with complete and utter collapse over the next four years, if we do no get more conservatives in the House and Senate.
I know that Black people got on board with this exciting idea of finally getting the White House. I just wish they would have gotten behind someone with true leadership abilities, the political clout and capital to enact change, and the wisdom to part with popular ideas and forge ahead with what is right.
Instead, we have a man with no real successes in life other than running three successful campaigns, and writing two memoirs. We have a man that has never stood up to Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid. We have a man that has never said no to anyone in his party.
I truly wanted to see a Black President, someday. Just not this one. Just not someone who will be such a colossal failure. Just not someone who very well could ruin our country's economy and national security.
A friend of mine sent me a forwarded text that greatly offended me, and showed me even more how this election went to Obama for the wrong reasons. The text read, "They did not want to give us 40 acres and a mule...so we will take 50 states and a White House." It offended me because I had nothing to do with slavery, and I have always spoken against slavery. I had no hand in that mess, yet now, I have to have this taunt thrown in my face?
It saddens me that his election was solely about race. It was about throwing the first black guy in the White House that we could. Black people, whether you know it or not, in 4 years, you will be set back 20 years.
Race was never an issue in the Democratic Primaries, nor in the National Race, until Obama, himself, or mouthpieces in the Democratic party, played the race card.

11-4-08...The Saddest Day in Black American History
In the 1960's, the honorable Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr., marched and preached. He fought and tried to lead Black Americans to a better day and time. He wanted to lead Black America to a brighter, better future. As he said, he wanted people to be "judged by the content of their character," and not "by the color of their skin."
Sadly, since an assassin's bullet ended Dr. King's life, Black America has lost their way.
Black America has few Black Americans who are truly leading their culture. The only leaders in the Black Community who get respect are those that cow-tow and humble themselves at the alter of Liberal Whites.
Liberal Whites are concerned with Black people only at election time. They promote the idea that Blacks are unable to succeed in life only because of Conservative Whites. Liberal Whites use Black Americans that will spew the same nonsensical garbage that they are. Black people are only a tool that Liberals use to get power, then forget about until election time.
It is so sad the fact that a man like Dr. King was assassinated. I truly think his death hurt America, black and white, more deeply than we can fathom. I wish Dr. King had lived and young black people for the last 2 or 3 generations could have truly learned what this man was REALLY about.
Dr. King would not support an insulting measure like Affirmative Action. To him, a man that was about character and decency and work ethic, Affirmative Action, the idea that a person of color was given a position, job, or perk simply because of their color, and not based 100% on merit and success, Dr. King would have been appalled at the idea.
Affirmative Action cut the legs out from under so many good, hard-working black people, as well as people of different ethnicities. Affirmative Action helped re-solidify racial divides. So many whites felt, and quite a few justifiably-so, that their work and success was made worthless when a person of a different race was competing for the same thing. Furthermore, many blacks who did, in fact, clearly earn their spot were categorized as an "affirmative action" success, instead of being credited with earning the spot. Affirmative Action deleted so much of a hard-working African American's efforts.
Affirmative Action was the biggest insult to African Americans, and the Liberals and Democrats laughed all the way back to their offices in D.C.
Fast forward to 2008. This is the year the Civil Rights Movement took a big punch to the gut. This is the year a man was elected courtesy of Affirmative Action.
Barack Hussein Obama was not elected on merit, ability, or track record. He was not elected for having a real plan for bettering our country. Barack Hussein Obama did not EARN his way to becoming President of the United States.
He was given the job to meet an ugly quota.
No one on the Republican side of the ticket even hinted at the fact that Obama was different looking. They never even brought up his middle name. John McCain went over and above the normal call of duty to ensure that there were no possible way his campaign could be called racist.
The only people that wanted to make sure you knew he was black were Obama himself, and the rest of the Democratic Party. Black law makers from South Carolina to New York and California, and everywhere in between, made sure to point out that Barack was black. Black law makers in the south even called McCain and Sarah Palin racists and compared them to segregationalist George Wallace.
James Carville, among other leading Democratic/Liberal mouthpieces, threatened and warned of riots in the streets, should Obama lose. Black leaders said a vote against Obama was a vote for racism. Time and time again, the CLEAR message, from Barack and the Democrats, was that not voting for the black guy made you a racist.
I work with children for a living. The evidence of this ideal, that voting against Obama was a racially motivated act, came to me tonight at the mall. I was shopping with some of my youth, and one noticed a t-shirt, one that I would have purchased if I could find my size. The t-shirt read: Don't Blame Me...I voted for John McCain.
The youth I was standing with noticed the shirt, then remarked, "Oh, my gosh!!! This is terrible! Look at this really racist t-shirt! What a racist thing to say!"
The 8th grade boy, who is a red-headed white boy, was incensed that such a t-shirt was being sold. He truly believed that the shirt was racist.
This young boy got the message, even if adults refuse to acknowledge it.
Obama was elected because people were made to feel guilty, and feel that they HAD to vote for the guy simply because he was black, and they did not want to feel like a bigot.
Affirmative Action just elected us a President. When he fails, and he will fail, it will be the biggest setback to the Civil Rights Movement since Dr. King was killed.

What WE have to do...
The fact of the matter is, the nation is divided.
Over the last 6 years, since Democrats stopped being pro-American and being pro-Democrat, the liberals in the media and in elected office have been attacking American unity. They were courteous enough to shut up for a few months post-9/11, but then they saw opportunity.
They saw a chance to seize power by attacking every policy of the Bush anti-terrorism initiative. They attacked out troops. They accused American troops of torture, murdering civilians, pillaging villages, and generally being poor-class and fighting dirty. Our fighting men and women have been attacked, insulted, berated, and accused of unthinkable war crimes....BY OUR OWN CONGRESS AND LEADERS!
It is sad that our enemies have used the words of our own elected officials as recruiting materials and as anti-American propaganda. Our troops are entering greater and greater danger in Afghanistan, as they were in Iraq pre-McCain-supported troop surge, because of the propaganda provided by AMERICAN DEMOCRATS.
Remember, post-Vietnam, NO CONSERVATIVE...NO REPUBLICAN...stood in lines to spit on and attack our troops returning from war. No CONSERVATIVE has ever given anti-American fodder for the recruiting propaganda of terrorist enemies.
So, since early 2002, less than half a year since the worst attack on American soil, DEMOCRATS have been attacking everything in sight to divide the country and fortify that division. The sides are almost irreparably divided; in fact scarily so.
The point being, there is nearly zero chance that we can change the minds of the Obama-maniacs who drank the kool-aid served by the media and Obama himself. We cannot get liberals or Democrats to drop their blind love and devotion to Obama. It is not going to happen.
So, how do we keep the White House and, possibly, reverse the growing liberal power in Congress?
VOTE.
We, the American conservatives, we must VOTE.
VOTE!
Tell people who and why we are voting for.
We must VOTE!
The media is spinning the early voter turnout as a trend for an Obama slaughter of McCain. They are popping champaign in the offices of NBC and CNN, already claiming Democrat victory and a new Super Majority in Washington, DC.
We have to show them how wrong they are. America is an overall conservative nation. We have to get our conservative majority motivated and out to the polls.
Whether we win or lose, we have to go down with a fight. We have to go down swinging, if it is in the cards for ACORN's tactics to win, we cannot sit idly by and guarentee a default victory for Obama.
We need to vote. Make our voices heard! We need to fight until the end of voting.
In the words of the immortal Coach Jim Valvano, "Never give up. Don't ever give up"
If you can get motivated, and motivate more conservative-minded people to show up and vote, at the end of the day, we might just suprise the liberals celebrating Obama's victory already.

Joe The Plumber
Wow. An average American asks a sensible, intelligent question, and now he is being investigated like the baseball steroid scandal.
Joe the Plumber simply wanted to know more about Barack Obama's tax plan. The question revolved around the $250K cap that Obama has set forth as the milestone that determines the wealthy, and the ensuing effects that it would have on small business owners who bring in $250K and up.
Barack Obama's response was straight out of the socialists' playbook. He wants to redistribute the wealth. Spreading the wealth is a good thing, he said.
Joe Biden, Obama's gaff-machine running mate (Stand up, Chuck!), thinks it is patriotic to pay more taxes.
Bottom line, Obama-Biden is going to raise taxes. Joe the Plumber wanted more specifics. He wanted to understand. He is an everyday American, working everyday hours, paying everyday bills. He just sought some piece of mind as November 4, approached.
Instead, he was told, by Obama's own words, that Obama-Biden is nota Democratic ticket...it is a wealth-redistributing, tax-raising Socialist ticket.
And the media, save for Fox News, is all over it. They are dissecting everything about the man. They are looking into what he said, what he has done, and what he is all about. They are finally going after this man and trying to discredit him at every turn.
Oh, no, not Obama. They are going after the plumber.
That will teach him to ask questions of the Messiah!!!

Would You Marry This Man?
Hi, my name is Barry.
I went to Columbia University. But, I can't tell you anything about my time there.
After Columbia, I worked on the streets of Chicago. In that time, I crossed paths with many people who could be deemed "radicals." I associated with groups that have been associated, if not fully guilty, of federal crimes and fraud, but I will not talk about them. I will only tell you it is in the past.
After that time, I went to Harvard. But, you cannot ask about, nor find out about, anything about by time there. My senior thesis is buried and hidden, and no one will release it for public consumption.
I have ties to a man who worked with a domestic terrorist group. One person I work with has described my relationship to this terrorist as "friendly." I say we barely know each other. I just happened to pick his house and living room to host a party that launched my political career and campaign to be state senator. Yet, he is not important.
I spent over 2 decades listening to the rants of an Anti-American, Anti-White, radical preacher. I sat in his parish for most of my adult life, and never had a difference of opinion with him...at least until I ran for a national office. My church of over 20 years has been a pulpit full of racist, bigoted, anti-American sludge. However, you cannot be allowed to hold that into question, unless you, yourself, are a racist!
You cannot question my past. You cannot investigate my associates. You cannot consider my radical friends, associates, mentors, religious leaders, or anyone else I have spent time with in forming my political philosophies, beliefs, and goals.
All you can do, unless you are a racist, is take my words at their face value. Unless you are a racist, you have to believe what I say on Monday, and then change what you believe when I speak on Tuesday, because a new poll has come out and I have changed my message.
Will you marry me?
Or, are you racist?
Would you marry a man whose past you could not learn about? Would you date a man who had so many radical connections that he held for so long without serious and public denouncement of? Would you date a man that refused to release any information about his college years, about his connections to a fraudulent, strong-arming political machine like ACORN, about his time as a community organizer?
Would you let a man you know nothing about be your significant other?
Then, why would you let him take charge of your life and you future?

The Latest News...My Take
First and foremost on people's minds is the current state of the American and world economy. Everyone is in a panic and thinking that we are on the verge of a new depression. I say, "Calm down!"
John McCain was right. The fundamentals of our economy are still strong. However, some very big financial institutions were very careless in their pursuit of outlandish profits and personal gains of the suits in charge. Some of those suits that have personally gained from the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac failures are include the very democrats pointing fingers at Bush. What people are not looking at is the fact that Barack Obama personally benefited from the two housing lenders' failures.
The bail-out of Freddie and Fannie, as well as AIG and the other companies being saved, will help keep our economy strong. While the bail-out will temporarily impact our tax budget, there is a real possibility that much of the $700 billion can be recouped, if not see a profit turned. If only we get the greedy democrats out of power.
Barack Obama and Chris Dodd and hundreds of other democrats personally pocketed millions of dollars from these institutions. Why don't they stand up and do the right thing and give back that shady money? Because it is easier to blame George Bush, the same practice that liberals have been doing since early 2002, when they first started blaming Bush for 9/11, and then it just continued from there.
This bail-out is, sadly, needed to prevent a deep recession, if not a complete depression. My hope is that America will elect McCain and McCain will let an economic whiz like Mitt Romney take charge of the economy.
Outside of that, we again are feeling even more pain at the gas pump. Why? We have no alternatives!!!!! We have no alternatives thanks to the do-nothing Democratic Congress. What happened to their promises of lowering energy costs? What happened to their promises of changing everything? They have done nothing! They went to break instead of voting on energy solutions. Nancy Pelosi forced the House of Representatives to summer recess instead of hearing Republicans who had requested floor time. She ordered the cameras off, the lights turned down, and the doors locked.
What kind of leader is this? She would rather go on vacation that do her job and find solutions for problems facing her constituents. And we are still painfully close to $4 a gallon with no hope in sight.
What has this heroic Democratic Congress done in two years? They were elected with promises of the sun, moon, and stars. They have done nothing of substance. They spent the first year of their time in power voting on non-binding resolutions to force withdrawal from Iraq. They have spent more time voting on resolutions that had as much legal power as a post-it note found on the floor of the Capitol Building than on finding solutions to American problems.
So, we have democrats with their hands in the crumbling cookie jar of Freddie and Fannie and Countrywide and all these other institutions. We have a do-nothing Democratic congress that has accomplished nothing, with the exception of a single-digit approval rating, setting historic records for disgust with accomplishment. Yet, sadly, nearly 50% of Americans support this same party?
Even worse, look at the kind of trash and low-life attacks that democrats are slinging at the McCain-Palin ticket. The left is not going on facts and issues, instead they are taking very mean-spirited, low, uncouth, dirty, disgraceful, and tasteless swipes at John McCain and Sarah Palin.
How many times do we have to hear that John McCain is going to die in office? The loud-mouths on "The View" implied and said it at least 6 times in the 30 minutes McCain was on their sofa. "God-forbid, something might happen to you..." McCain is a tough cat. He has smirked and walked-through and survived events and catastrophes that civilians could not fathom. Running the nation he has served for over 40 years will be a cakewalk compared to some of the travesties McCain has dealt with.
For a party that supposedly fights for women, they sure cannot handle a woman with a shot at the Vice Presidency. They constantly question Sarah Palin and her ability to be a family person and a VP. They never question a man, yet they attack a woman. Why? She is a conservative. If Sarah Palin was pro-choice and wanted to raise taxes and have government take over health care, these nut job feminazis would be 100% for her. Yet, because her fundamental beliefs are different, her gender is no longer worth promoting. And don't get me started on the complete garbage and classless attacks against Todd Palin and their children.
The children are not campaigning. They are CHILDREN, you sick, twisted, soul-less morons. We have left-wing media people and left-wing politicians who attack the Palin family on a daily basis. Charlie Rangel called Sarah Palin "disabled." Media have implied that Todd Palin is "doing those girls," referring to the Palin daughters. There are attacks out there claiming that Trig, the precious youngest Palin child, is actually the product of an incestuous relationship between Todd and the 15-year-old daughter.
Then there is Charlie Gibson with his very condescending attitude and disrespect for Sarah Palin. She handled it well, but Gibson was so rude and slanted in his interview with Palin. It is just part of a pattern of the left trying to tear her apart, not just politically, but personally.
I just hope, and I do have hope, that the rest of the country can see through the garbage. There are no real attacks on McCain's policies or Palin's strengths. Instead, there are personal attacks and attempts to personally destroy the children, who have nothing to do with the campaign.
So, people, please, see through the smoke and mirrors. Research and find the truth. If you think for yourself, and truly find the truth, you will have no choice but to vote the correct ticket come November 4.

GOP...WAKE UP!
There are so few people out there hammering this home. It is time for the Republicans and Conservative to take this election. The time is NOW!
Nancy Pellosi and Dingy Harry Reid called for the summer vacation and shut down congress. Not such a big deal in most years. However, most years do not see gas hovering near $4 a gallon.
The big problem is that Pellosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and also third in line behind George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, literally turned off the cameras, kicked out the press, and turned off the mics and lights in mid-session while Republican Representatives were trying to get an up-or-down vote on off-shore oil drilling.
Pellosi abused her position to avoid getting something positive done. She refused the chance to have the vote on a resolution that could set the groundwork to open up off-shore drilling.
In the two years since the Democrats have taken Congress, they have done NOTHING. They did give away billions of dollars in the tax rebate deal. We all loved that short-term, however, we will pay long-term.
The Dems have done NOTHING. They watched as oil climbed over 75% and did nothing to slow the skyrocketing costs of energy. They played games with war funding by trying to impose timelines and deadlines. They passed meaningless resolution after meaningless resolution that disagreed with President Bush's policies. They renamed post offices and bridges. They investigated baseball and football and pro wrestling.
Yet, Nancy Pellosi closed Congress for summer to avoid voting on a resolution that would only set groundwork for offshore drilling. Republicans were not asking for an immediate approval to start drilling. All Republicans wanted was to pass a resolution that set the idea in motion. In the busy schedule of softball interviews she had to get to, Pelosi just did not have time to try to ease the suffering of Americans at the pump, nor fend off the pending crisis this winter when Americans need heating oil.
Yet, there are not nearly enough Republicans in a all-out outrage over this situation. Pelosi just handed us Congress and the White House with this tactic. Are we ready to take back the leadership?
The next two months will tell. I hope we are. I truly hope Republicans get their heads out of the sand and start hammering the liberal twerps and take back Congress and the White House.

Flip-flop much?
After seeing his slim lead evaporate in less than a week, guess who is coming to terms with reality?
Barack HUSSEIN Obama is now promoting alternatives to high gas prices and proper tire inflation. He is actually turning his rhetoric around to where it might be possible that the United States of America might should actually use its OWN RESOURCES!!!
In the last few days, Obama, who will tell anyone who listens that he looks different than everyone on the US currency and John McCain, has come out and said the following. He said he would actually consider drilling off-shore on a limited basis. In addition, he has come out and endorsed opening up the Strategic Petroleum Reserves. On top of that, he has even said we need alternative fuel sources and renewable fuels.
Wow!
The learning curve this man is on is amazing!
From the naieve, arrogant, elitist views of a week ago (America does not need to drill oil...Americans need to simply tune up their cars and properly inflate their tires! [The solution for our energy crisis as proposed by Barack on the campain trail last week])to the idea that we actually need to work and create solutions that will last.
Its amazing how easily Barack can change his mind. Just show him the latest polls!
If we could only get a poll out there that said 55% of Republicans would support Barack if he word a bra on his head, I guarentee there would be a piece of Victoria's Secret wrapped around those ears tomorrow!
That reminds me of something that I have been thinking about. On more than one occasion lately, Barack has pointed out that he looks different from previous Presidents and John McCain. Then, in Missouri, he said, that "oh, by the way, {he is} black!"
We know. We really don't care. We respect people for their content of character. Barack has none. He is a puppet for the left of the left. The only difference we might have really noticed physically is one of two things. How flipping scrawny he is...or the fact that he looks like a car with doors open. Other than that, nothing of note to physically notice about him.
This man is not a leader. He is a puppet. He refuses to face tough questions. He refuses to explain himself and his alliances. He refuses to answer for the outrageous comments his wife makes on the campaign. He makes outrageous comments about properly inflating tires as the cure for the energy crisis, but we cannot question him. We cannot attack him.
It is sad. It is scary that 50% of America supports him. It is damn scary that he might win the White House. Then have Ludacris remix "Hail to the Cheif," in which we would end up sending the whites to the cotton fields or killing or paralyzing Bush administration officials. Its frightening.

Hey, Libs, how sad is your candidate?
All we hear from Obama is how he is going to bring change to Washington. We hear vague details on raising taxes on the rich, universal health care, pulling out of Iraq by a deadline, whether or not the job is done, and change.
Obama is a joke. Nothing in his candidacy has any substance. He goes on this "Foreign Experience" field trip where he only shook hands with troops when cameras were rolling. He refused to visit injured/wounded soldiers in Germany because there was no way he could turn it into a campaign stop.
He preaches about change, yet he offers absolutely ZERO substance. He has no leadership experience. He can't even run a decent campaign. He is in NO way, whatsoever qualified to run a mom and pop shop, much less the United States.
During his field trip, he spoke to 200,000 Germans. He told these Germans, who have all the basic earmarks of a socialist society, that he was just like them, believed the way they believed, and wanted the United States to be more like them. I am, of course, paraphrasing and interpreting, as even he is not dumb enough to say it in that manner. However, he related well to the socialist-esque Germans...that same psuedo-ally German country that won't support us in the war against Terror.
Coming home from the field trip, Obama was stunned there was very little bounce in his poll ratings. So, what can he do to regain his ever-slimming lead? Play the ultimate trump card.
THE VAUNTED RACE CARD!!!!!
He commented that Republicans are going to use fear tactics. The kicker of the diatribe was that he pointed out that Republicans were going to try to scare American voters because he doesn't look like the other Presidents. Obviously, this was not a comment on the wigs worn by the likes of George Washington, or the stove pipe hat of Lincoln. No, no, no! This was a direct comment about the fact that Obama is...GASP!...black!
Let me say this. Despite what Jeremiah Wright or Ludacris or any African-American celebrity or leader might say or imply, not voting for Obama is NOT racism.
If you do not vote for Obama, it does not mean that you are a racist. No matter what you might be led to believe. I don't care what anyone says, an Obama loss in November is not a win for racism.
I would say in upwards of 75%, or higher, of American voters would not think twice about a candidate's race. There are very few people, overall, who would actually not vote for someone due to race.
There is going to be an African-American president sometime in the near future. I just do not think this candidate is qualified to do so. Just because he is black does not mean he should be the first black president. You would think that blacks would want their first crack at running the White House to be successful.
I would hate to think that someone like Condi Rice, or any truly qualified African-American person, would have their chances hurt by a electing Obama. Obama is being portrayed the the Great Hope for black people. Sadly, his colossal failure as President could set-back the entire race on many levels.
I am not a racist. I would have no problem with Obama if he were qualified. I would have the same reservations about a white, Hispanic, Asian, Polynesian, or other ethnicity candidate if they were as underqualified.
It says a lot that the only people pointing out Obama's race are people on Obama's side. Its almost as if they are trying to guilt Americans into voting for him. This is not a popularity contest that guilt or charity votes should be solicited.
This is the race for the White House. This is the contest for the highest office on Earth. It should be won on substance and character, not by pointing out that the candidate is black, and that is the only reason you should vote for him.

GOP and Republican Party: The Time is NOW!!!
In Washington state there is a big uproar over some tactics being used by Republican cadidates for state and national offices. In this state, a candidate for such a position can list either Democrat, Republican, or a party moniker of their choosing. So, what is the deal that has Dems in a uproar over how members of the Republican party are on the ballot?
Well, before I tell you what the issue is, in the event you have not heard or understood, let me explain the logic behind the Republican candidates decision to take advantage of this situation.
In America today, 90% of the media (this statistic is based upon my personal impressions, and not that of any legitimate research...so, take that 90% with a grain of salt...but also, try to prove me wrong!) is 100% anti-Republican, 110% anti-Conservative. (Again, opinion-based percentages...yet, I ask you to prove me wrong!) So, the name...the brand, if you will...of the Republican Party has a negative connotation to it. Since the success of liberalism is based upon the voting public's complete closed-mindedness, the label (R) or Republican will be met with an immediate disdain, dislike, and even hatred, regardless of who that Republican might be.
Many liberals who call themselves Christian would immediately leave the church and declare themselves atheist or agnostic if it were proven on NBC or MSNBC that Jesus Christ is a registered Republican. Laugh. Go ahead. Yet, if you look at the mind-numb, ignorant, carrot-on-a-stick-following manner and mania in which most liberals stick to the word of liberal leaders and media, this is not far from the truth.
So, the point is, liberals, and to a point, middle-of-the-roaders, will automatically reject the Republican label. (Usama Bin Laden could win most any election in the United States with nothing more than a (D) next to his name.) However, Washington state has a loophole that allows a chance to take some of the power away from the R word and possibly see elections based on the issues.
In Washington state, many Republicans are distancing themselves, quietly from the name Republican and running as candidates on the "GOP" ticket. Instead of seeing Joe Schmoe (R), you can see Joe Schmoe (GOP) running against John Doe (D). Its a simple rebranding, like when Kentucky Fried Chicken tried to eliminate the negativity surrounding 'fried' foods by just branding itself as KFC.
Dems, of couse, are in an uproar. Keith Olberman is crying foul (no pun intended with my previous KFC reference). Yet, don't they cry to the highest mountain tops EVERYTIME a Republican candidate gets an advantage?
I am all for it. Perhaps the entire Republican party should follow suit. Perhaps we need to rebrand ourselves. Refer to ourselves as GOP candidates and redefine what conservatism is all about. Not redefine as in change the meaning, but make the meaning more clear and abundant. It is time for the GOP to reunite and remind America what it is that separates us from Dem.
First, we need to renew our strength as the party of financial responsibility. Enough of the pork spending and the earmarks. The GOP can no longer afford to allow congressmen and friends of congressmen get rich off tax payer dollars. We have to fight the wasteful spending and invest our money into defense, energy, and education.
Second, we need to make a pact with America, and by proxy our closest allies, that we will be the world leader in creating new, clean, renewable energy sources for the present, as well as for generations to come. In that pact, we will wean ourselves off of foreign fuels and rely only upon those barrels we get from our friends and those that we drill ourselves. We need to push the fuel cell technologies for transportation. We need to build nuclear reactors to provide electricity, especially in our population centers, to prevent power outages that kill the young and old.
We have technology far superior to China and many other oil-drilling nations. Yet, China is drilling off the coast of Cuba, right in our backyard. We cannot sit idly by and let China's drilling suck out all the oil in the Gulf of Mexico seabed. Our technology is so advanced, thanks to the 'evil' oil companies, that we can be in and out of ANWR in setting up the drilling rigs and pipelines with virtually zero disruption to any species' mating seasons. In fact, the warmth of the pipelines in that area may create better survival and mating situations than with the current harsh winters.
We can be good stewards of the Earth and try to respect the beauty and fragility of the world's eco-systems. We have the ability. No matter what a person's stance is on the theory (YES, THEORY) of Global Warming, we can all agree that we should take better care of the planet. However, we must also take care of our economies and national security issues.
The Republican party desperately needs a rebranding. It might be wise for John McCain and the entire party to use the example in the great northwest and use the letters GOP as a catapoult to a rebranding. November 4, 2008, is D-Day for the GOP...D meaning either Do or Die...

From D.C. to Baghdad: LET FREEDOM RING!
Free at last, free at last, good God, Almighty, we are free at last!
I am not sure how to translate that into Arabic, but that is the thought and sentiment being shared in Iraq this day. Martin Luther King, Jr., may have meant a different freedom in a different time, but I feel that there are about 20 million Iraqi people who are feeling, if not saying, very similar sentiments today.
Despite the whinings and defeatist ideas from the left, the Iraqis reported to have their fingers dyed and voted cast in the third...yes, count 'em, three!...FREE elections today.
In less than 12 months, Iraq has held its third consecutive successful election. With their fingers dyed purple, the Iraqi people bravely took to the polls, risking life and limb, to vote.(Sadly, some of us won't risk getting wet because it is raining on election day.) However, the people of Iraq are just over 2 years removed from the complete removal of Saddam and his terrorist regime, and they are in the middle of a successful development of a free, democratic republic. Thank you, troops, for making the world safer for not only these Iraqis, but us as well.
Thank you to our troops, the troops of the coalition, the brave leadership from the US White House and the Tony Blair administration.

Merry Christmas to our soldiers fighting overseas who won't be home to celebrate.
This blog typed in a color similar to that of the dye on the fingers of the Iraqi voters today to show my support.

Let freedom ring, Let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today is a day of reckoning!
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong!
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay!
It's Independence Day!!

About Me...And This Blog Site...
My name is David A. Ebert, the oldest of two siblings produced by my parents, Leah and David G. Ebert. We are all Republicans, but I take it a toke or two...well, closer to 10 tokes...further than my parents,
I am very much a Right Wing Conservative. I am a Reagan Conservative. I believe Americans, in general, are smarter than elected officials in Washington, DC. We should be more in charge than the Government.
We, as individuals and families, should have more responsibility over our own, hard-earned money and not send more and more and more taxes to the out-of-touch politicians. I believe the government is there to serve us, and not us to serve them.
I believe in America's greatness and that, overall, we are the most generous, forgiving, intelligent, and genuinely decent country in the world. I also believe that we are the most powerful nation in the history of the world, but do not use that power to hold over the collective heads of other nations.
I believe that low taxes, intelligent spending of those tax revenues, strong initiatives on defense and education, and small government influence on the day-to-day lives of Americans are some of the most important ideals related to how the US should be operated.I believe in the freedoms granted by the US Constitution. I believe that judges should uphold and interpret the laws as written in the US Constitution, and not refer to any foreign legislation to make their historic decisions.
I believe the First Amendment, as well as the entire Bill of Rights, are the most important laws this world has ever seen.
I believe abortion is WRONG. I believe that homosexuality is WRONG. I believe that allowing anyone to publicly debate the possibility of lowering the age of consent, especially for young boys to consent to older men, is a tragedy of morality. I believe that organizations like NAMBLA should be publicly shunned and not given a platform to spew their harmful and dangerous rhetoric.
I believe there is a sad lacking in the ability of our nation to appreciate and accept self responsibility. We, as a nation, blame daddy, racism, sexism, classism, mommy, the mean teacher, the mean little league coach, the loud mouthed uncle, the financial status of the neighborhood in which we grew up in, and a million and one other reasons why we do not succeed. How often do we, as a nation, take the blame for our own mistakes? How often do you hear someone accept responsibility for their own mistakes? How often?
I am conservative. I am worried about the future of the country and the planet, especially if O-BOMB-A or Billary Clinton make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I will start posting my fears, my hopes, my ideas as they all relate to news and politics. I hope to open some eyes and change some opinions with my writings. Most of all, I hope you will read my words and be inspired to find the truth...and not rely on Chris Matthews or Keith Olberman or Katie Couric or Matt Lauer for your opinions. I hope you will break the mold and do something unreal...unexpected...do something that O-BOMB-A and Billary are afraid of you doing...
