Things That Are Annoying Me

While I usually aim for a targeted rant, the following will be a list of random, various issues that are particularly annoying or upsetting to me. Read, enjoy, and feel free to comment.

1) Everytime I watch one of those anti-cruelty ads on TV, whether it is Sarah McGlaughlin or anyone else, my heart hurts. Any human that does to animals what they show in those ads is a sick, sad, evil person. Yes, even Michael Vick, whose return to the NFL I supported only because he paid a hefty price and deserves a second chance at life. The fact still remains that he either is, or used to be, very sick and heartless. Anyone who is cruel to animals and causes the scars and injuries that these commercials show is someone that deserves prison time. It literally makes me fighting mad.

2) I think that we are far too understanding or forgiving to people that hurt children. Child molesters and child rapists are sick, twisted scum. Anyone that hurts a child is the lowest life form on Earth. As a Christian, I struggle with these types of people because I want to rid the world of their presence. Anyone that rapes or molests a child has no useful purpose on this planet. Their life is worthless. Yet there are those that are so worried about the molester's rights and treatment and forgiveness. There are just some things that are not forgivable. Hurting a child through rape or molestation is one of those unforgivable sins. Carl Lee Hailey is a hero.

3) I am so tired of minorities crying race everytime things do not get their way. I can't criticize President Obama without someone thinking I am a bigot and do not like him because he is black. I cannot speak out against illegal immigrants without being thought of as prejudice against Latinos. I am tired of every business having to kiss minority butt to avoid being called racist. Yes, I know racism exists. I know that some people hate people for no other reason that the color of their skin or their last name. However, asking the government to interveve on your behalf every time things do not go your way only further handicaps you and your people. If you work hard in school, work hard at your job, and become someone with valuable talents and experiences, you will get to wherever you want to go. But, if you are lazy and want everything handed to you because of things that happened 100 years ago, get the heck out of the way and stop your crying. Martin Luther King, Jr., wanted blacks to EARN the right to get what white people have, and not be given everything simply because life ain't fair. Dr. King would be disgusted with the plight of blacks today because blacks defeat themselves more than any racist boss could.

4) I am tired of the thought that the rich should pay for EVERYTHING. Tax the rich...buy health care. Tax the rich...build roads. Tax the rich...build a water fountain in an unused park and name it after a Congressman or Congresswoman. There are just some things that people need to work for and buy themselves. The more you tax the rich, the less they buy and the less they hire. I have never gotten a job from a poor person. Poor people cannot put other people to work.

Let's say you have a mouse problem. You get a cat. Can you teach a cat to hunt mice if you trap and bring the dead mice to the cat? No. The cat will stop worrying about hunting because you take away the drive. Same applies to giving everything away to the poor. If you GIVE them everything they want and need, the desire to go get it is dissolved. The rich should not pay for everything. The poor sometimes needs to get off their laurels and go EARN it.

5) President Obama selects a general to head the war in Afghanistan. In the middle of the summer, Obama's appointed general tells Obama what he needs to win the war in Afghanistan. You know, the war that Obama supported winning throughout the campaign? So, here was are, four months later, Obama is bowing in Communist China and taking softball questions from hand-picked Communist Chinese students, and bowing to the Premier of Japan, and still no decision on whether Obama wants to win the war or not. Sometimes, when there is a life or death decision to be made, not making a decision is a decision. So, by not deciding, Obama is deciding to lose the war in Afghanistan. Thus, we have dropping troop morale in that war. So, Obama, thank you for your undying support of our military.

6) I am so tired of these bleeding heart morons who cry about free health care. Well, let me say this. You will get what you pay for. If you look at Medicare and Medicaid, as well as the VA medical system, they are all riddled with failures in service, fraud, unpaid doctors, and the government making decisions on life and death procedures and care. There are options for emergency care. If you break your leg, you will get treated. If you have cancer, there are organizations out there to help you. If the only place you can get insurance is a job you aren't happy at, well tough. Why do I have to suffer because you want me to buy your health care instead of you sucking it up and being a responsible adult? The government cannot handle ANYTHING efficiently. So, why am I going to have to deal with beauracratic nightmares so that you can have government insurance?

NO COUNTRY IN THE WORLD CAN MATCH OUR QUALITY OF CARE. WHY DO YOU WANT TO DESTROY THAT????

7) The Ft. Hood massacre was the work of one man...and he is something no one outside of Fox News Channel will say. Everyone is so afraid of saying the truth, it is sickening, sad, and dangerous. Malik Nadal Hasan is a MUSLIM EXTREMIST TERRORIST. He is all three. 1) MUSLIM. 2) EXTREMIST. 3) TERRORIST. He is not Christian, we know that because if a Christian killed someone, that is the first word of every paragraph of every report. Someone "thought" the man who killed an abortion doctor was a Christian right-wing extremist, and that is how he was labled. A Chrisitan right-wing extremist. Yet, they refuse to name the guy that kills 13 American soldier and wounds 31 more. They softly read his name, hoping that by not annunciating it, even coughing as they say it, they can avoid identifying him as a MUSLIM EXTREMIST. "*COUGH*Malik Nadal Hasan *COUGH* is the alleged shooter in the Ft. Hood massacre. He might have ties to some groups against America's war on Islam."

Malik Nadal Hasan is an EXTREMIST. A MUSLIM EXTREMIST.

Just like Abdulhakim Muhammad, who shot and killed a US Army soldier at a recruiting station in Arkansas in June 2009, is a MUSLIM EXTREMIST.

I am so tired of the silence of the peace-loving Muslim community, much like I am so tired of the media covering up the religion and extremism of remorseless killers like Hasan and Muhammad. The fact that there isn't a more vocal anti-terrorism and anti-murderous faction of the Muslim community starts to make one wonder...maybe this whole religion of peace thing is just false advertising...

8) Trying the 9-11 terrorists in US Courts is a political sham. It is heartless. It is stupid. It will make a mockery of the CIA, Homeland Security, the US Military, and the Bush Administration. All reasons why the Obama Administration is so in support of the idea. Any time that they can take a shot at the CIA, the military, or Bush, you better believe that shot will be taken. It scares me to think what a liberal judge is going to do with this case. Are the confessions going to be thrown out because of a lack of Miranda Rights? Are these murderous terrorists going to be allowed media time to spew their hatred and filth? Are these murderous scum going to have access to all of the rights of the US Constitution, the very document they were trying to destroy with their attacks on the US?

This whole show is a sham and political ploy to unearth classified documents and information for public view. Part of that public includes international courts, who could, and likely would, use that information to indict the Bush administration. Something Obama knows would be politically dangerous to do on his own. However, if he uses the US Civilian Courts to open up the classified documents, the international courts have all the ammo they need to twist and attack Bush.

9) I am so tired of every liberal fool blaming Bush for everything that is wrong. Obama has NO ACCOUNTABILITY with these people. Bush supporters give Bush credit for the rights AND the wrongs his administration were responsible for. Obama does nothing wrong. If something doesn't work, it is because Bush screwed things up worse than we thought.

So, passing a stimulus on the promise of a peaking unemployment rate in early summer fails. It is because Bush messed up the economy worse than Obama thought. Hmmm...okay. Let's give you that. So, that means Obama is responsible for rushing to throw good money after bad in haste when he took office? No. Obama does not get blamed for acting without proper planning. He doesn't get blame for not properly assessing the situation before passing nearly $2,000,000,000,000 in spending in less than a month. Obama gets no blame from his side.

I am tired of the sheeple that walk behind Obama no matter what, no questions asked. These sheeple will walk straight off a cliff...and take a large portion of the country and world with them.

Ok, I feel better. My 10 rants are out. I will go to bed now.

The Supreme Court: It is not SUPPOSED to be Empathetic

The Supreme Court is not supposed to be an agenda-forwarding body. The Supreme Court is not a political toy. It is not supposed to be a body that determines the future of the nation based on personal feelings, experiences, backgrounds, ethnicities, or any other personal fiat.

The job...the duty...the responsibility of a Supreme Court justice is to interpret the law as it applies to the Constitution. The Supreme Court is not a higher power than the Executive or Legislative branches of the federal government. No branch of government is supposed to answer to or beholden to the whims of nine people on the bench of the highest court in the land.

Supreme Court justices are supposed to be impartial to each case they hear. They are to take themselves out of the case and judge each case on its own merits, and apply applicable laws to the case. The laws from which they are to draw are supposed to be exclusively from the Constitution of the United States.

For the last century or so, the Supreme Court has veered far, far left of center and has led the way for activists to enact change in the United States, and, in the process, has usurped the powers of the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.

With the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor, Obama has opened a Pandora's Box of issues with this Judge's idea of her responsibilities. As I am sure you have heard, Sotomayor made some questionable remarks about ethnicity and ability to judge cases.

First, I agree with the arguement that had the roles been reversed, no matter what the context, and a white male had said his experiences allow for wiser decisions that a Latin-American woman, he would be vilified until he would have to step down from any bench he could concievably sit upon. That man would no longer be able to touch a gavel in a United States court. A white man saying he is better at anything than a woman, minority, or a minority woman would lose everything he has ever worked for because he would be labeled, attacked, and crucified in the media and by even his closest political allies. Sotomayor, like any minority, gets a pass because white males have no rights and no protections from racist or hate comments. Its true. White males are not protected. We have no protections, no right to get upset, no inclination to fight and complain when we are attacked and left out for no other reason than our gender and color.

I can get over that. It's the hip thing to down white guys nowadays. We are the political whipping boys anymore. Fine.

My real problem with the comments is that Sotomayor is telling us that she relies on her background to interpret the law. Not her studies. Not her familiarity with precedents and the verbage of the Constitution (you know, the document that is the basis upon which ALL Supreme Court decisions should be made). Instead, because she is a Latin American woman, she has the experiences to make judicial decisions.

So, getting back to the original points at the beginning of this rant. The job of a judge, regardless of level, whether it be the Tazewell County Courthouse in Virginia, or the 9th Circut Court in California, or the US Supreme Court, is to use the words and meanings of the Constitution of the United States.

Not the laws of England. Not the governing documents of France or Germany. Not the laws and precedents of courts in South America, Europe, or Asia.

The US Constitution, and then the individual states' Constitutions.

Nothing else.

Not empathy for individuals. Empathy is fine, but it should not determine justice. Lady justice is blindfolded for a reason. She does not have one eye exposed to look down mercifully upon a purposed victim. Lady Justice weighs the evidence and the rule of law. That's it.

It is all well and good to show pity, empathy, and compassion on an individual basis. In fact, I encourage it. I think that it is truly American to help those in need when possible. I do not think it is the job of a Supreme Court justice to show caring and concern with their binding decisions on the court.

And neither did the framers.

About Me...And This Blog Site...

My name is David A. Ebert, the oldest of two siblings produced by my parents, Leah and David G. Ebert. We are all Republicans, but I take it a toke or two...well, closer to 10 tokes...further than my parents,

I am very much a Right Wing Conservative. I am a Reagan Conservative. I believe Americans, in general, are smarter than elected officials in Washington, DC. We should be more in charge than the Government.

We, as individuals and families, should have more responsibility over our own, hard-earned money and not send more and more and more taxes to the out-of-touch politicians. I believe the government is there to serve us, and not us to serve them.

I believe in America's greatness and that, overall, we are the most generous, forgiving, intelligent, and genuinely decent country in the world. I also believe that we are the most powerful nation in the history of the world, but do not use that power to hold over the collective heads of other nations.

I believe that low taxes, intelligent spending of those tax revenues, strong initiatives on defense and education, and small government influence on the day-to-day lives of Americans are some of the most important ideals related to how the US should be operated.I believe in the freedoms granted by the US Constitution. I believe that judges should uphold and interpret the laws as written in the US Constitution, and not refer to any foreign legislation to make their historic decisions.

I believe the First Amendment, as well as the entire Bill of Rights, are the most important laws this world has ever seen.

I believe abortion is WRONG. I believe that homosexuality is WRONG. I believe that allowing anyone to publicly debate the possibility of lowering the age of consent, especially for young boys to consent to older men, is a tragedy of morality. I believe that organizations like NAMBLA should be publicly shunned and not given a platform to spew their harmful and dangerous rhetoric.

I believe there is a sad lacking in the ability of our nation to appreciate and accept self responsibility. We, as a nation, blame daddy, racism, sexism, classism, mommy, the mean teacher, the mean little league coach, the loud mouthed uncle, the financial status of the neighborhood in which we grew up in, and a million and one other reasons why we do not succeed. How often do we, as a nation, take the blame for our own mistakes? How often do you hear someone accept responsibility for their own mistakes? How often?

I am conservative. I am worried about the future of the country and the planet, especially if O-BOMB-A or Billary Clinton make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I will start posting my fears, my hopes, my ideas as they all relate to news and politics. I hope to open some eyes and change some opinions with my writings. Most of all, I hope you will read my words and be inspired to find the truth...and not rely on Chris Matthews or Keith Olberman or Katie Couric or Matt Lauer for your opinions. I hope you will break the mold and do something unreal...unexpected...do something that O-BOMB-A and Billary are afraid of you doing...

THINK FOR YOURSELF.
