How to Fix the Economy...TODAY

If President Barack Obama truly wants America to rebound and jobless Americans to find work, then I have the solution that will put our country on an upward slope.

First step: Energy.
We address the energy crisis with real passion and fervor. We announce that the continental shelves in the Gulf of Mexico and off the Atlantic coast are open for drilling. Each company that applies to drill in those areas will be required to put up $1 billion into a lock-box, rainy-day fund that will act as an insurance policy against any oil leaks. The funds will be kept in a savings account, earning interest, and any company that halts drilling will be allowed to cash out of the fund.

Second, announce the immediate construction of oil refineries in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. As the new oil refineries go up, we will also add 25% more state-of-the-art nuclear power plants, a number of which will be located in or near California and in or near New York City.

These two steps will IMMEDIATELY cause a massive drop in oil prices. On Monday, July 28, 2008, George W. Bush announced an end to the Executive Moratorium on harvesting the oil shales in the in the western US. Within, literally, hours, oil prices dropped, causing a sudden drop in gas prices as well. The sheer announcement of a new direction in American energy policy will cause OPEC to panic and drop rates to keep our business. Instead, we will harvest our own resources and stop relying on OPEC, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other countries in volatile situations.

With energy costs lower, people will have more money to purchase goods and services, and also pay off debts (including their own mortgages!). With more money in their pockets, there will be more vacations, more vehicle upgrades, more clothes, more consumerism.

So, a byproduct will be more need for employees to serve the new influx of people coming in to businesses. Thus, taking those people off the unemployment rolls, thereby taking the burden off the taxpayer for these people to survive. More people working, more people paying taxes, and suddenly we can stop borrowing money.

Oh, and let's not forget the immediate jobs coming from the construction and operation of the refineries and power plants. (More people working and paying taxes).

Second: Government Spending
There are so many things the government has it's fingers in, it is hard to start tackling the huge, over-reaching federal government. So, let's start with unemployment and Welfare assistance.

Unemployment rules should include clauses requiring drug testing and requiring legitimate evidence of job searching. For instance, if someone on unemployment can be shown to have intentionally flunked an interview or otherwise inhibit their own employment opportunities, then they will forfeit their benefits permanently and not be eligible for 3 years. This will force people to take job-seeking seriously instead of taking for granted an unending government paycheck for staying at home. There are many stories, a couple of which I've seen in person, of people on unemployment tanking an interview so they would not get hired and stay on paid vacation. There are some jobs out there, perhaps not the glorious jobs once available, but a working person is much more valuable to society than a person sitting at home getting a check.

In addition, if there is a problem finding work in an area after 3 months, then a person must spend 30 hours a week doing legitimate volunteer work in their community to earn their check. Schools need help, churches need help, homeless need help, and many others all over the country need some attention. And, if you're going to get a check courtesy of taxpayers, you need to serve your community. The contributions will be immeasurable in the communities with our tax dollars not just going into an endless, wasteful pit.

These suggestions will deter abuse of the unemployment system and encourage people to get off as quickly as possible.

Welfare recipients will be required to pass drug tests prior to receiving the first dime in benefits. Once every three months, a social worker will administer another drug test at a random time during normal business hours.

The selling of food stamp cards will be equivalent to credit card fraud. The maximum number of children covered will be 4 at any one time. And, like with unemployment, if, after 3 months there is no change in situation (as in no job secured), Welfare recipients will be required to volunteer 30 hours per week and make a contribution to bettering the communities in which they live. This will be required of all able-bodied adults in a home. Obviously, enrolled students that have not yet graduated high school will be exempt.

By encouraging people to get themselves and their families off the taxpayers' payrolls, the tax base will grow, jobs will be taken, and more money will be infused into the economy.

Third: Stop Borrowing money.
Ronald Reagan said,(paraphrasing), "The federal government should not try to find the money they need, but instead find a need for the money they have." Instead of borrowing money to bail out failing businesses, failing industries crippled by over-powering unions, and people who cannot afford to pay for the homes they are in, it is time to let people to actually take and accept responsibility for their choices. There is nothing wrong with renting or living in smaller houses. There is nothing wrong with living without the great luxuries of life. There is something wrong with taking my earned money to bail out failures.

It's time the federal and state governments stop spending and start saving. When our interest payments on our loans are more than many countries' entire economies, there is something grotesquely wrong.

If the public employee unions won't budge and think that union members are somehow exempt from struggling in tough times. and should not see higher premiums in their insurance and retirement, then perhaps it's time to replace all union employees with non-union so we can stop over-extending our budgets to pay for unreasonable, lavish benefits for public employees.

These are some lofty ideas to fix our economy, but I guarantee they will work. Just the sheer announcement of the energy idea would be a shot of adrenaline into our economy.

So, why is our government more concerned with getting involved in a state dispute with the state union and not so much with the repair of our national economy?

Can YOU say it? Moreover...can you MEAN it?

I love America.

I love my country and am proud to be a citizen of this land.

I am proud to be an American.

Now, you say it.

Can you say it? Do you mean it?

Since the 1770's, we have been in a constant struggle to maintain freedom and our Independence. Countless men, women, and children have fought, suffered, and died in the name of freedom.

From the warriors that dug in their heels to push back Cornwallis into the awaiting cannons of the French, to the men and women who gave so much to get our country going in the two World Wars, to the men and women who were attacked and literally spit upon by fellow citizens during the Vietnam conflict, to the men, women and children who died on the battlefields as terrorists took a war ignored for 8 years to an unreal escalation, to the men and women fighting and dying in Afghanistan and Iraq, far too many to name have made sure we can speak freely and not fear a tyrannical government punishing us for our thoughts and beliefs.

American heroes that preserve our freedom are constantly overlooked or, even worse and far more tragic, insulted, berated, spit upon, and called terrorists themselves, sometimes by the same lawmakers that sent them to the conflict for which they are being attacked for going. Then there are these non-Christian groups portraying themselves and God-like Christians, but show no indicative signs of being God-like, who picket, protest, and spew hate and insults towards the men and women lying in flag-draped caskets, as well as their families, saying such 'Christ-like' platitudes like "God hates you!" and "God killed you for a reason!" and "God despises America." (To anyone that knows God, this completely discredits their movement because God, according to what we read and believe in the Bible, does not hate His children, EVER.)

During this extended weekend, in between the fun and the beer and the ribs and burgers; between the cursing the long wait in traffic as you travel this weekend; in between the dodging of certain people you are trying to avoid at your parties; in between the regular rigmarole, take one minute...take just 30 seconds...and say, "I love America. I am proud to be an American."

Try to mean it. Yeah, America is not perfect. Anything created, run and operated by humans will never be perfect. However, America is a truly great nation. Be thankful that you are able to enjoy the freedoms so many have died to ensure for you.

Thank a soldier. Thank a cop. Thank a fire fighter. And, most importantly, thank God.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA

Black Friday Tragedy

On November 28, 2008, in the early morning hours, a seasonal worker at Wal Mart was killed by a herd of stampeding morons. People looking to get a great deal on a TV killed a man, without a second look.

Jdimytai Damour, 34, was trampled to death by a herd of self-centered, senseless, spineless idiots. Damour, up early for work, trying to earn a living, was killed because 500 people refused to utilize any form of self control.

I hope that the police spend months analyzing the tape, and then charge every person on that tape with Manslaughter. Every person who walked in that store and stepped on, or over, Damour, should be charged.

There is no excuse. There is no reason this man should be dead. There is no possible way to excuse oneself for stepping on a man and walking past as if nothing happened. This man died because of greed and selfishness. One family will celebrate Christmas with an empty chair because 500 people couldn't wait 10 more seconds to save $10.

The thing that adds to my anger and frustrations is the fact that many pro-union groups are trying to capitalize on the tragedy. They claim Wal Mart should unionize, because a Union would have had done something to prevent this. Perhaps, but there are still tragedies like this in Unionized businesses. It is just another way that Unions are trying to grab power.

GM, Chrysler, and Ford are all begging for cash from Congress because of out of control Unions. So, in my opinion, Unions are the last thing Wal Mart needs. More Unions are the last thing America needs right now.

The REAL problem is the people. The people who storm upon stores at abnormal hours. The people who FIGHT, literally, over toys and cameras and TVs. The people who stomped a man to death in their greed to save a few dollars.

You can toss some blame on the store for not getting some security in place when they saw the hoard outside. You can blame the store and the police for not keeping order, even after the police were on scene BEFORE the doors opened and the tragedy happened. However, we need to have the film analyzed, re-analyzed, and then all the faces tracked down and charged with Manslaughter. Perhaps the police on Long Island need to make some examples of these people.

Most of the savings that motivate these massive crowds are for presents to be placed under the tree. A lot of people are purchasing items for themselves, also, but the majority is for giving. Sadly, we have lost the beauty and true meaning of the season, and of giving. This loss of the real meanings of the season and of giving was never more prevalent than on Friday, November 28, 2008.

Hurricane Ike

First and foremost, my thoughts go out to the people who's lives will be immeasurably impacted, changed, and lost in the coming weekend. I hope for the best possible outcome for the families who are being displaced by this storm, many of them on a permanent basis.

This storm is shaping up to be one of historic impact. I cannot put into words my fears for the people of Texas. There is no way to say something of encouragement when there is nothing to be done. It is cheesy and almost facetious, but I do sincerely wish everyone the best of luck in the next 72 hours.

The only thing to do is run. Evacuate. Get out. Find a new location to hunker-down until the skies clear and the waters recede. That is the only option for anyone in the path of this monstrous storm.

Sadly, and stupidly, despite the warnings, there are many people who are thumbing their noses at the National Weather Service, their concerned families, and the word of every official with a microphone. They will not get out. In fact, a bar called the "Poop Deck," which is located about 50 feet from the raging waters of the Gulf of Mexico, is full of partiers getting drunk and ignoring the coming storm. I do hope they survive, but their chances are very limited. Sadly, their ignorance may not only affect themselves, but might very well cause harm or death to first responders and emergency personnel who may have to save their stupid selves.

In cases such as these, perhaps it is time to follow the teachings that so many "educational leaders" want to teach in public schools. We should follow the teachings of the "Survival of the Fittest" and "Evolution." Perhaps, these people are the weakest and are not fit for survival. Why should we risk our limited and overworked EMS workers to save them after they put themselves in such danger? If they survive, praise be to God for sparing them, in spite of their ignorance. If they do not make it, they are the ones who took the risk, and got drunk, and stayed in harms way.

I know that is morbid to think, even more morbid to say publicly. However, I think it needs said. We always hear how evolution is the way, and that species move forward in the evolutionary cycle because only the fittest survive. Its time to put the money where their mouths are at.

I do not want any harm to come to anyone in Galveston, TX, or anywhere else for that matter. However, I have no sympathy for idiots who party and ignore warnings as issues by the NWS, who warned that those ignoring the evacuation pleas would face "Certain Death."

My next problem with Hurricane Ike is the gas stations today. Today in my little neck of the woods, we saw price gouging of historic proportions. Gas was hitting $5 and $6 today in anticipation of Ike. As high as gas was already, for them to gouge it so high BEFORE the storm, it is just ridiculous. I drove 1.5 hours round trip today to save $.75 a gallon before the trend swept all the way from Beckley to Wytheville, VA.

All I can say is: "Drill, Baby, Drill!!!"

The Unfair Fight That Should Unify Conservatives, Women, and Mothers

Here is the situation.

On one side, you have the wife of a presidential candidate actively campaigning, speaking at rallies, and regularly sticking her foot in her mouth by making snide remarks about her country. This woman has called America a "mean" country. She said that the fact that her husband's ability to run for and win a party's nomination for president makes her "proud of [her] country" for the first time. She is an active member of the campaign. She is a campaign spokesperson. Yet, she is beyond reproach. Any questions about her are low-brow, below the belt, low class, and just plain wrong.

On the other side, you have a woman who has accepted the nomination to be her party's Vice President. Her family appears with her at times, but they do not speak. They are not involved in the campaign. They are her family, a separate part of her life. Her husband does not take the stump for her. Her children are not speaking at the national convention. Yet, all of the left-wing media, from the 5,000 failing NBC channels to CNN to ABC to MSN.com to Yahoo.com, all of them are attacking her family, the brunt of the attack focused on a teenage girl.

This campaign has gotten out of hand. I can deal with the media being so obviously biased for Barack Obama. I can live with their 10 times more favorable coverage of Hussein Obama. I can live with the rockstar-like coverage of his field trip to the middle east and Europe. I can even deal with the fact non of his left-wing media friends, and he has a lot, questioned his skipping out on meeting with injured troops in Germany. I can live with all the attacks against McCain or Sarah Palin. I can live with being called racist for not liking Obama, even though his ethnicity has no bearing whatsoever on my dislike.

However, I have a serious, serious problem with attacking a seventeen year-old girl. I have a serious issue with attacks against a teenager who has made a mistake that millions of teens have done, a mistake celebrated and encouraged by most people on the same side that are now attacking her. I have a serious problem with these irresponsible media folks attacking an innocent family for something that has zero bearing on the campaign.

It is just another sad example of how Obama is not qualified to be President. At no point in the 2008 election has Obama shown and outlined his qualifications. He cannot and will not run on the issues. He knows it. The democrats know it. The media knows it. So, they have to run attacks and smears like going after a pregnant teenager.

Pre-marital and unprotected sex are not things I endorse. I am sure Sarah Palin and her husband did not endorse nor encourage their 17-year-old to practice those type of things. However, she is a teen. Teens make mistakes. Teens think they know it all and do things they might later regret. It happens. Yet this teen and her family are united. They are supporting the teen who has opted to keep the baby. She plans to wed the father of the baby. There are far greater errors in judgement teens can make.

How low-brow is it to attack a family and embarrass, hurt, and psychologically scar a 17-year-old girl? How is this okay, yet to question Michelle Obama and her slightly anti-American comments a travesty of travesties?

How can you people sleep at night?

I like Sarah Palin. Her resume might be a little on the thin side, yet she has more executive, decision-making experience than Barack Obama. She has stuck her neck out an enabled change in a short time in the Governor's Office in Juneau, Alaska. She has a track record. She has a policy-based platform to run on as Vice President. She offers more qualifications and experience than Obama, who is running to be President. She is strong, smart, of high morals, and will bring change to Washington. She is a no-nonsense person who will fight for what is right, not what is popular.

She also offers the answer to many Hillary supporters. Those voters, especially many of the women voters, are upset that Obama is in and Hillary did not even get considered to be on the ticket as Vice President. Sarah Palin scares the Democrats. She, like McCain, cannot be defeated on issues.

So, what can they do?

Attack her 17-year-old daughter.

Way to go.

I'm Still a Guy...Part 2 of 2

These days, too many males are shirking their responsibilities as men. They are "men" when its time to get a girl naked, yet they run and bury their head in the sand the second their romp ends up in conception. Males are all but happy to perform the fun part with as many women who are naive enough to participate, yet there are so many biological fathers who run like a 4 year old from a broken lamp to shirk their responsibility.

Any male that is not a strong influence and role model for his children is not a man. No MAN has ever not accepted his duty as a father. Children need a man in their lives. It teaches boys how to be a man, and it teaches girls what a man should be like and what not to accept as a man in her life.

Children need a man in their lives as much as they need a woman. This is not sexist, this is fact. The man is just as influencial in a child's life as is a woman. For balance, security, role-modelling, and structure, a child need its father as much, and in some areas, more than, the mother. However, not just any male can be a father. A father has to be a MAN. A man has to be a stallwart and a person in which children can hold high esteem.

The character of a real man is based in responsiility. A man finds and provides food, shelter, security, and stability for his family. Sometimes, this can involve a woman's help, either financially through her work, or in other ways. However, it is a natural instinct for the man to be the breadwinner. A man needs to be responsible for ensuring a warm plate of food on the table, a sturdy roof overhead, a safe place in which to live and eat, and a strong environment in which the family can grow and prosper.

A man's responsibility is also to model God-fearing, God-serving, and Christ-like practices in all that he does. A boy will watch his father more intently than imaginable in those early formitive years. It is the man's responsibility to model appropriate behavior for the son to model, as well as for the daughter to become accustomed to so that she seeks the same in her mate later on in life.

No MAN has ever hit a woman. Re-read that statement. No one who is a man has ever laid his hands on a woman in a violent manner. If you hit a woman, you are not a man. If you strike anyone in any manner other than legitimate self-defense, you are not a man. No bully can also be a man.

A man must love his wife and his family without equivocation or doubt. The man must devote himself to the happiness and security of his wife and children. The way in which he treats his wife is going to be, in most cases, the way the son treats his wife in the future. If a man loves, honors, and respects his wife, his son will do the same. Just as importanly, his daughter will expect the same and not settle for less. The converse is true as well. If a man disrespects, cheats on, or otherwise does not appreciate his wife, his children will mimmick the behavior in their relationships.

So, to all members of the male species, it is time to reassert ourselves. It is time to fight the feminization of our kind and take our rightful places as real, big, hairy, stinky, sweaty, competitive, risk-taking men. It is time to show all these little boys what a man REALLY is...

Pizza Prices are outrageous!!!!

On an island, not far from the United States, lives a family of 10 people. There are three generations of Libbies represented in this household. Their lifestyles, happiness, and desires are based upon the availability of pizza.

For years, the Libbies bought their pizza from distant lands. The cost started off modest, making investing in making their own crusts not so worthwhile. They loved their foreign pizza.

They had pizza from neighbors. Pizza from places that did not like the Libbies, but their pizza wasgood and plentiful, so money was the key to that relationship.

These places where the pizza was plentiful started getting more and more, and even more, customers. Suddenly, the modest price of each pizza started to climb higher and higher.

The Libbies grumbled, mumbled, and moaned over the rising price of their beloved pizza. Instead of $5 a pie, it prices soared to $12, then to $15, then to $19. Instead of doing something about the cost of their pizza, they cut back on other expenses. They cut out going to the movies, flights abroad, concerts, vacations, big screen TVs, and other spending. They needed their pizza.

Sadly, these people continued towards financial ruin. Even more upsetting is the fact that they had all the necessary ingredients to make their own, terrific pizzas. All they needed to do was invest in a new oven and get the rollers to roll out the dough, and they could live on all the pizza they could ever want and need.

The Libbies let neighborood wack-os claim that baking their own pizza would pollute the neighborhood. They claimed that the extra power they would use for making their own pizza would be too costly, both financially and to the environment.

The wack-os never complained about the other pizza places and their pizza producing techniques. They only held the Libbies back. The Libbies bought into this wild, unprovable theory of weather change, and let that theory be the cover for why they did not cook their own pizza.

The Libbies farm had a thousand head of cattle, whose milk could make the cheese for the pizzas. The Libbies farm had the ripest, sweetest tomatoes. They had the most nutritious, wholesome wheat and grain growing on their farm. Their pigs could produce the greatest sausage in the world.

All they need to do is invest in a new oven as well as the mixing and prep equipment to make their own pizza. The Libbies are smart, resourseful people. They have the ability and technology to create and use equipment in such a way that would virtually eliminate any environmental disturbances.

In fact, they could even prevent the smell of the fresh-baking pzzas from getting out into the neighborhood.

Not to mention the fact that as soon as it would be known that the Libbies are cooking their own pizza, the cost of pizza would freefall around the world. They wouldn't even need to be in production yet. The fact that they were moving toward their pizza inependence would cause a ripple effect.

If the Libbies would only make their own pizza, they would be able to restore their financial strength and independence. They would also strengthen their family security. They would also buy time to find an alternative food that would eventually replace pizza.

Its such a shame that the Libbies would rather see themselves starve than create their own pizza.

God Bless America this Memorial Day

What a beautiful day. The sun is shining. The birds are chirping. The sun is high in the sky, warming the world.

It is gorgeous out today.

While I enjoy the gentle breeze passing through, and admire the robins, cardinals, and other birds flying through the air, there is something I notice. There is something I realize.

I realize, and appreciate, that I am standing in Wytheville. I am in the Commonwealth state of Virginia. Therefore, I am standing safely within the borders of the greatest country God ever blessed with sovereignty.

I am, of course, referring to the most generous, decent, caring, forgiving, and strongest nation in the world today. The lone superpower left on the globe. The world leader.

The United States of America.

How did we get here, to Memorial Day 2008?

How did America become and remain so strong?

For over 250 years we have enlisted the most intelligent, decent, honest, prideful, respectable military personnel in the world. We have the brightest and the bravest wearing an American flag on their shoulder, and have had them for two and a half centuries. Our soldiers fight with honor, bravery, care, respect, and integrity. Our military strives to ensure the safety of the innocent while prosecuting the guilty. Our men and women in uniform are the best.

So, today, if you are working or if you are off for the three-day weekend, take some time to pray for the safety of our military. They give up so much for us to be free to stand on a small grassy knoll, take in a deep breath, enjoy the warmth of the sun, and not feel fear to walk outside. They give up so much for us, let us take today to thank God for them.

Please pray for God to continue to bless our soldiers with strength, intelligence, mercy, decency, proper judgement, and, most importantly, a safe return home after a successful mission.

God bless the United State of America. God bless its military for their decency and integrity. Thank God for all of our freedoms.

Happy Memorial Day!

Race in America. Can a White Man even talk about it?

Today, I am going to make some people uneasy.

GOOD. People think better when they are taken out of their comfort zone.

Today, I am talking against MICHAEL ERIC DYSON and for BILL COSBY.

We all know who Bill Cosby is...a man who EARNED his way to prominence in not only th black world, but in the world as a whole. He went to school, read books, learned proper English, and became a rich, successful man. And he did it without relying on affirmative action or some other liberal "equalizer" to get him through. He is a brilliant man who worked hard to get what he has. Beginning at a speech to the NAACP, Cosby started a war on ignorance, laziness, crime, and lack of personal responsibility.

Many applauded his speech and his efforts to combat the downfalls of lower middle class and poor blacks. He brought their entire lifestyle and culture to question, challenged their disregard for taking it upon themselves to prosper without crime, and attacked their willingness to settle for the life they have without working toward a better future. As far as I am concerned, Cosby hasn't spoken a mistruth since he began his attack on the poor black cutlure.

But, then again, I am white. Where parents, for the most part, teach children that education and respect will get you places.

Cosby feels that in this country, in this day, no one who gets an education, develops proper self-respect, develops a respect for others, and becomes a worthwhile employee, anyone who does that, will succeed. Cosby sees ads many see, many poor blacks are not doing that today.
So, Cosby has been calling his race out-he wants work ethic to become a staple lesson to blacks. He wants a high level of personal responsibility restored. He wants blacks to become more educated, more responsible, hold higher moral standards, be better parents, and build a life that does not involve crime.

Why is that so wrong?

Michael Eric Dyson, also a successful African American, is a professor who completely disagrees with Cosby's attack on the poor black lifestyle. In fact, he put pen to paper and has a book out called: Is Bill Cosby Right? Or has the Black Middle Class Lost its Mind? This book is an attack on Cosby's attack. This book is a 300 page list of excuses for the poor black community to do just as they have for the past 20 years.

In an excerpt from his book available here: at NPR's website, Dyson insluts blacks as a whole while also attacking Cosby for coming out and challenging blacks.

Cosby's overemphasis on personal responsibility, not structural features, wrongly locates the source of poor black suffering—and by implication its remedy—in the lives of the poor. When you think the problems are personal, you think the solutions are the same. If only the poor were willing to work harder, act better, get educated, stay out of jail and parent more effectively, their problems would go away. It's hard to argue against any of these things in the abstract; in principle such suggestions sound just fine. But one could do all of these things and still be in bad shape at home, work or school. For instance, Cosby completely ignores shifts in the economy that give value to some work while other work, in the words of William Julius Wilson, "disappears." In our high-tech, high-skilled economy where low-skilled work is being scaled back, phased out, exported, or severely under-compensated, all the right behavior in the world won't create better jobs with more pay. And without such support, all the goals that Cosby expresses for the black poor are not likely to become reality. If the rigidly segregated educational system continues to miserably fail poor blacks by failing to prepare their children for the world of work, then admonitions to "stay in school" may ring hollow.

(The bold and RED is mine for emphasis on some of the statements made here.)

First, the comment that Cosby overemphasizes personal responsibility. To me, that is a statement that completely supports Cosby's statements. How can you OVEREMPHASIZE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY? The choices one makes in this life are what determines our life. Yes, there are outside factors that contribute to our successes and failures. There are people who will do us wrong. There are unfair circumstances. SO WHAT? Get over it. Move on. Try harder. It is up to God's plan and your personal responsibility to yourself and your family as to whether you are a success in life. However, you cannot wait for God or any other deity, situation, or person to arrive to your front door step. You must make the efforts necessary to be a success. It is up to YOU and no other human being.

Dyson then berates his entire race with the second comments I put in bold. He all but calls blacks too dumb to work high-tech, high-skilled jobs. He says that in the high-tech, high-skilled work place, there are no or fewer opportunities for blacks. HUH? Just because the world is developing and requiring intelligence and education, there is no place for blacks? NO. If ANYONE gets an education and has work ethic, there is room for them in the work place. This is what Cosby is getting at. This goes back to the personal responsibility issue. You can't expect a drug dealer to drop the dime bags and walk into the CEO's chair at Microsoft. No. He's got to go to school, learn how to type and read and gain an understanding of computers, THEN he goes to work and climbs the ladder. Few, if any, successful people started on the top rung.

Dyson thinks blacks can't hang with the high tech world. Cosby thinks if they get and education and work for it, they can. Who do you side with?

The last comment in this excerpt from the excerpt bothers me very much. He blames the education system for the poor state that schools in highly black areas are in. How about looking around, Dyson. Its a vicious cycle of crime, irresponsibility, and laziness. The schools are in bad shape because the kids were not raised right and are running the school because they have not been taught responsibility. So, they have kids who go through the same cycle. IF the parents of poor black kids would raise them with integrity and personal responsibility, the kids would not ruin the schools and would be able to learn while in the building. However, when you are raised by the streets while mom is either coked and smoked out of her mind and sleeping with random men, or she is out working 2 jobs because her sorry man left, then the streets is all the kids know. And they bring the streets to school.

Bill Cosby is right. He may seem mean, hateful, and a traitor to blacks at times, but trust me, he is not. Cosby's crusade can save many blacks from the vicious cycle they are in, and at the same time, save our country. Cosby needs support from every person of every race.

If you ask me, Dyson is the traitor because he excuses the black behavior and encourages blacks to stay right were they are.

Tougher Laws for Crimes Against Children

In a great move by a conservative Governor, there is now a tougher penalty against child molesters. Thus, we now have to wait for someone like Judge Greer to veto the law because it is unconstitutional.

Think I am kidding?

I know other states have this sort of GPS tracking, but only under temporary circumstances during probation. This would be the first time anyone would be monitored for life.

First, I think ANYONE...ANYONE...who is convicted beyond a shadow of a doubt of molesting, sexually abusing, or raping a child should be locked up for life without parole. There is no excuse or reason for hurting a child. I think that these cardinals and priests who molested these kids should be defrocked, I think thats the term, and thrown in jail. NO ONE should be allowed to lead anything like a normal life after hurting a child like that.

However, life sentences for child molesters would not fly thanks to people like NAMBLA and the ACLU. So, then, let's compromise.

A lifetime of being tracked by GPS. Which is more than fair, I think. I think its really unfair that a child will forever be hurt and damaged by what this person did, yet they have the chance to walk free...the only reprecussion is some time in jail and then a little implant to follow you. I think that is more than fair and more than provides a second chance.

But, I am going to sit and wait for this idea of lifetime GPS tracking to be questioned in court. Will a liberal judge allow this law to stand? Liberal fought tooth and nail against registering sex offenders in the first place. You know, the same people obsessed with labels we against labeling the sickos that rape and murder innocents. Yeah. So you think they will be all for monitoring someone? ACLU to the rescue...its only a matter of time.

Liberals live and die to protect the world's criminals and refuse to protect the innocent. People like the ACLU will not allow a criminal to be implanted with a permanent tracking device. They will protect the liberties of scum like John E. Couey no matter the cost. Think I am full of crap??

Ask Jessica Lundsford. Ask Sarah Lunde. Or, in another case where the rights of the victim were thrashed by ACLU lawyers, try to ask Terri Schiavo about protection of the innocent...oops, you can't, can you.

But, let me stop being negative for a second.

Congratulations to Jeb Bush for getting this thing done and done immediately. Thanks to the men and women in the Florida legislature for getting it done.

Thank you, Jessica and Sarah for sacrificing, although unwillingly, your lives so that other little girls can live...so long as stricter laws continue to be passed to stop scum like Couey back on the streets.

Unbridled Courts

Ok, maybe I am a little bit over the top and a little passionate about what I think and feel. For those that accuse me of going with the Rush-Hannity-Coulter-etc. talking points, I only want to say that at least our talking points aren't made up...we use something that is called fact.

I think the courts today are out of control. There are no checks and balances between the legislative and judicial or executive and judicial. The judicial has been allowed to take control with no way to control it. Judges today are allowed to be above the law of the land, above the legislative branch, above even the president.

When the US Congress passes a piece of legislation that allows the courts one final opportunity to review a case of life and death importance, and those courts refuse that opportunity, while at the same time taking 14 hours to create a 13 page document that takes cheap shots and swipes at the people concerned about the case, the Congress, and the President...14 hours that could have been used to actually review the case and save a life...then that judiciary needs to be reassessed.
There is nothing wrong with reassessing and, possibly, revamping our legal system. That is the beauty of our country's constitution...there is room for error and room to correct those errors.
I want those errors corrected. I want a judiciary that answers to someone. I want a judiciary that interprets the law according to the law and not their own beliefs. I want a judiciary that won't give a multi-million dollar settlement to a criminal who was injured while breaking into someone's home. I want a judiciary that will use the law to protect the innocent and condemn the guilty. I want a judiciary that rules on case-by-case basis and not blanket solutions. I want a judiciary that has a touch of humanity and humility.

I think I am not alone on that.

Publicly and Judicially Endorsed MURDER!

March 30, 2005-- Terri Schiavo's Death Sentence

Everyone is talking about it, so let me join the crowd. (Which is something I usually try not to do, hence I have never seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies, read or watched Harry Potter, or cheered for the New York Yankees...hate bandwagons.)

First, I want to send my condolences to anyone who knows Terri and is suffering as a result of her long murder. Her situation is a tragic one that we must all learn from and prevent from happening again.

Now, to the many issues at hand within this case.

Unfortunately, many people have forgotten one simple concept in this case: Terry Schiavo is a human being...a woman...a life...someone with a beating heart...working organs...a human. Too many judges and too many others in power, and too many others throughout the world, have forgotten this simple fact. Why is this concept hard to grasp? Or, do the people who fight for the "end of this case" need to forget that simple fact so they can live guilt free when she does succumb to the murder? Is it easier to think of her as a "case" and not a human? Is that how one can eat dinner with their own family...their own daughters...by neglecting to remember the fact that Terri is a person?

After that sad fact, we have to consider why we are here today? Why is there such a rush to yank her feeding tube out and let her starve? Pope John Paul II is receiving a feeding tube as we speak...why not yank it out? Yes, there have been 19 judges in 11 courts who have "looked at" this case over the past seven years. However, only once, seven years ago, has this case been thoroughly examined. ONCE. Since then, Terri Schiavo's desperate parents have been fighting to keep her alive and try to get her the necessary rehab to bring her back to a higher standard of living. Then, once the feeding tube was removed nearly two weeks ago, the US Congress fought to pass a law to allow the federal courts to open the files, testimonies, and hold a "di novo" review...a complete, thorough, head to toe look at everything in and around Terri Schiavo's case.
What did Judge George Greer and his colleagues do? Thumb their nose at the US Congress and the President of the United States by taking less than 13 hours from the passing of the law to write a rejection of the review. Greer forgot that TERRI IS A HUMAN BEING.

Terri's parents, siblings, and family counselors have been joined by Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and even Jesse Jackson, in the fight. Governor Jeb Bush and President George W. Bush have fought hard within the law to help Terri Schiavo. However, an out-of-control judiciary has taken over the nation...and the liberal media and liberal leadership over the past 50 years has allowed and fought to allow this. The judiciary, legislative, and executive branches are supposed to be of SEPARATE BUT EQUAL powers...not the legislative and executive branches bowing before the mighty gavel and robe. Perhaps this is lesson one from Terri Schiavo.

Perhaps this is agenda item number one for America to fix once we recover from this situation.

For me, there are two very, very scary ideas that are coming out of this situation. First, the most heart-wrenching and sickening thought is that Terri Schiavo is NOT in a Permanent Vegetative State, a claim made by an accomplished neurologist and several nurses who have been treated Terri, and instead there is a woman, fully aware, trapped in a failing body as she starves to death. I am worried that because of the denied rehab that could have brought Terri back to a more prominent level of consciousness, she is mentally locked in a prison within her body. Can you imagine how scary that would be? How overwhelming that could be? To be trapped in that situation with a husband fighting to kill you off once and for all? To see your family weeping and praying at your bedside, the whole time you are fighting to tell you mom, "I love you, don't worry mom."? We do not know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she isn't in pain...that she isn't suffering...that she isn't fully aware of what is being done to her. We do not know. That is what Congress and the President wanted to accomplish on Palm Sunday: find out for sure before she is killed.

Now you might be one of those who whines that Congress and President Bush overstepped their bounds...they should not have gotten involved in this case because the federal government does not belong mettling in personal, private, state affairs. I believe that the involvement of Washington was because Bush and the Republicans saw the big picture...they saw the second thing that scares me about this sad situation...they saw the looming question that could haunt and destroy our country in the years to come. That dark question that none of the judges nor anyone else who is on the death-to-Terri side will, or can, answer is: Where does it stop?

Where does it stop?

If we allow Terri Schiavo to die like this, where will this type of medical "treatment" be stopped? Where and when will the limits be drawn? If we can take the word of an adulterous husband as proof positive of a wish to die, what kind of a Pandora's box is now open?

Perhaps this can open up a way to fix social security. Perhaps we can start killing off seniors who are in less-than-conscious states by cutting them off from food and hydration. Perhaps we can starve children with down syndrome? Where will it stop? Yes I am predicting a slippery slope, and you might scoff now. But, in 20 years, where will the murder of Terri Schiavo put us as a society?

Based on this case, someone who has serious Alzheimer's can be euthanized because they once said they wouldn't want to live that way. A mentally retarded individual can be euthanized because a legal guardian decides it is what is best. A severely mangled car accident victim can be killed because they would not want to live with the scars and injuries...according to a guardian.

Based on this case, a spouse with an obvious conflict of interest (i.e. a new common-law wife and two kids) can determine your medical treatment and decide to have you euthanized.

We are headed in a wrong direction. Terri Schiavo is not the first, and, unfortunately, won't be the last. However, her situation is the most crucial because it has become so well known. It is in the public forum, and we, as a society need to make some serious decisions. We do...and not heartless, humanless judges hiding behind a gavel and a bench.

There is so much more to this situation....too much. A woman is dying because her husband wants her to. She has not gone through the rehab she needs to see if she can recover. Her husband has left her to rot in her body and now wants her gone so he can continue his adulterous relationship. And, with her death, she will immediately be cremated and her ashes taken to Pennsylvania...just one more slap in the face and dagger to the heart of her family. Also, and more vile, the cremation will prevent anyone from knowing for sure how Terri fell into her condition...perhaps because Michael Schiavo has something to hide.

About Me...And This Blog Site...

My name is David A. Ebert, the oldest of two siblings produced by my parents, Leah and David G. Ebert. We are all Republicans, but I take it a toke or two...well, closer to 10 tokes...further than my parents,

I am very much a Right Wing Conservative. I am a Reagan Conservative. I believe Americans, in general, are smarter than elected officials in Washington, DC. We should be more in charge than the Government.

We, as individuals and families, should have more responsibility over our own, hard-earned money and not send more and more and more taxes to the out-of-touch politicians. I believe the government is there to serve us, and not us to serve them.

I believe in America's greatness and that, overall, we are the most generous, forgiving, intelligent, and genuinely decent country in the world. I also believe that we are the most powerful nation in the history of the world, but do not use that power to hold over the collective heads of other nations.

I believe that low taxes, intelligent spending of those tax revenues, strong initiatives on defense and education, and small government influence on the day-to-day lives of Americans are some of the most important ideals related to how the US should be operated.I believe in the freedoms granted by the US Constitution. I believe that judges should uphold and interpret the laws as written in the US Constitution, and not refer to any foreign legislation to make their historic decisions.

I believe the First Amendment, as well as the entire Bill of Rights, are the most important laws this world has ever seen.

I believe abortion is WRONG. I believe that homosexuality is WRONG. I believe that allowing anyone to publicly debate the possibility of lowering the age of consent, especially for young boys to consent to older men, is a tragedy of morality. I believe that organizations like NAMBLA should be publicly shunned and not given a platform to spew their harmful and dangerous rhetoric.

I believe there is a sad lacking in the ability of our nation to appreciate and accept self responsibility. We, as a nation, blame daddy, racism, sexism, classism, mommy, the mean teacher, the mean little league coach, the loud mouthed uncle, the financial status of the neighborhood in which we grew up in, and a million and one other reasons why we do not succeed. How often do we, as a nation, take the blame for our own mistakes? How often do you hear someone accept responsibility for their own mistakes? How often?

I am conservative. I am worried about the future of the country and the planet, especially if O-BOMB-A or Billary Clinton make it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I will start posting my fears, my hopes, my ideas as they all relate to news and politics. I hope to open some eyes and change some opinions with my writings. Most of all, I hope you will read my words and be inspired to find the truth...and not rely on Chris Matthews or Keith Olberman or Katie Couric or Matt Lauer for your opinions. I hope you will break the mold and do something unreal...unexpected...do something that O-BOMB-A and Billary are afraid of you doing...

THINK FOR YOURSELF.
